I'm glad I don't live in N.S.W.

I'm sitting here scared sh*tless now. I have always wanted to visit/explore that area, but now..........not so sure. Are all of those dangerous animals protected from being killed? I mean, if you were camping and saw one could you shoot it to protect yourself?

NOPE !! As a Ethical hunter and aussie we cant shoot natives. Though the aborginals here have eatten them forever.
They are curious animals, not aggressive.... most aussie know not to mess with them....

Oh yeah don't mess with a Goanna, if one comes at ya lay down on the ground otherwise he will think that you are are a tree and piss on you. No really lay down otherwise you will surely be mauled to all buggery!!

Edit: Shoot the crap outta it as long as no-one is watching. As long as you wish to eat it ;)

 Lay down? Why wouldn't he just walk up and bite ya then? Seems to me a shotgun with 00 buckshot would work wonders.

What about the other animals like the deadly snakes and the others? It freaks me out when I'm no longer on the top of the food chain.

Hey CM they are perfectly fine to hunt as long as you identify yourself as being Aboriginal. ;) Same as other protected wildlife as long as you are within your ancestoral tribes area.

Sorry to Dp but if you stand up he will most probably climb you, those claws can get as sharp as a shank and are filthy. If you are in the bush without assistance (very often if you are a bushman) you will die, no question.

If you lay down he will run past you (fingers crossed) and you don't die! Yayy!!

they're all timid critters here anyway, unless you surprise them. well maybe not the salties or the funnel webs.

that goes for kahki wearing clowns named irwin too.

I like a bit of fun though!!

Edit: Funnel webs are'nt THAT bad, i mean nothing worse than a mother in law on a mission...

You think the NSW snakes are bad, should see the roaches up here, they fly like sparrows & almost as big. Then theres the toads :D - they kill snakes

Bent, we should start calling you the snake whisperer.

 I guess I'm the only one that got this ? I saw the shark whisperer on the weather channel this morning. IMO he has a death wish or at least a wish to loose some body parts

IMO if I had a shark chewing on my boat, I sure the F wont be petting it on the head!! I'd say a nice 12ga slug to the sharks head will do the trick!!
then the idiot was kissing sharks  at least he got bit this time.

Mate, all native Aussie wildlife is protected, but unless you are extremely unlucky (more often than not it's dickheads trying to kill them), you've nothing to fear. I only keep pythons, but have had experience with vens, and honestly - they are pussycats. :)

It's the drop bears you really have to worry about in Australia :)

and the kangawallafox....

I love NSW, if it can't kill you by biting or stinging you then it can most likely eat you......

A little over dramatic, but it sounds good.....:)

I've lost a heaps of pets to snakes and spiders over the years. Always very sad......
