It's Hard to Let Go...

When you know fall is fast approaching, temps are dropping into the 40's at night and your plants continue to look worse everday. The vibrant green leaves of the summer have turned to yellow and are falling. Even the pods are different.

You know that the time is coming when you will have to take out your shears and start cutting them down. All your hard work, nurturing, fertilizing, watering, shading will go with them. It is never easy.

The time on the East Coast is coming my friends. There is no denying it. For me it will likely be this weekend for most of my plants. Such is the cycle of the seasons.

Time to live vicariously through the Aussies for the next 4 months until planting season begins again!

I am clinging to my plants for another 2 weeks. But you are right. Fall is here and colder weather is right around the corner.

Say what you will about cars or supermodels in bikinis, if I ever hit the powerball, one of the first things I'm doing is establishing a second home in Awesomestralia so I can skydive and grow peppers in the winter lol.

This time of year is sooooooooooooooo great... I go out to the garden each afternoon and examine all the new growth and make sure no naughty little bugs and hurting my plants...

It's getting that cool stateside huh? The nights are a little cooler here now and the mornings fresher, but daytime is still pretty good. The last week (on the eastern side of England) has been like summer. Still comfortable in a t-shirt when I walk the dogs at night. Just hope it continues till I can get my pepers fully ripe.

I officially have 10 plants indoors now, in my south sunny windows with hopes to get some ripening action. My outdoors plants seem to have come to a halt, which is sad to see. You really have to time things right up here. Not many months to work with.

the temp is falling here too (south west scotland) but not too cold so far...& my outdoor dutch cayennes are still setting fruit!
in the gh is still good, lotsa flowere & buds, apart from the scotchie, which is shedding leaves & buds.so long as the fruits ripen, all is well.
i'm also hoping the weather will hold, been good so far.plenty of pods still to come...

We still have a few months left of growing/ripening here in Virginia. We just have to protect them from frost for the odd night or two.
