jackie d !

Quick update here...we saw the chemo dr yesterday, Charles white count was down a little. The side effects will be starting now. 17 more days of radiation. In May or June the PET scan will be repeated to see if the chemo is working. Apparently it keeps working after the treatments have stopped. I'm learning a lot of new information. I asked about a new set of lungs but once you have cancer there is no transplants. I wish we had known that a long time ago, we would have definitely checked into it.

Seems like I just don't get here as often as I need to..the 16th of March hopefully is the last day of radiation. We found out that along with blood count too low for chemo it can also be too low for radiation. Gas here in town went up to $3.65 so we try to fill up in Sioux Falls as it usually has cheaper fuel. Charles is losing his hair, fortunately he had a lot so at this time it only looks thinner. I honestly just want to stay home and plant peppers, I am not cut out for that daily 208 mile round trip. I think we are both exhausted by the time we get home. He sees the pulmonologist on the 12th and hopefully will get a portable concentrator so he doesn't have to carry the oxygen tanks or take the one on wheels. It would allow him more mobility, be so much more convenient. His weight is staying pretty good right now. I will try to get here more often and keep you updated.

We are done with chemo and radiation..now have to wait for tests in Apr and late June to know if he needs any more or how well treatment worked. At least we won't have to drive that far on a daily basis and I can stay home, plant peppers and do all the things that got neglected for so long. Pretty much won't have any super hots but will muddle though with whatever I can raise from here on out.

Hi ya Jackie.

Glad to hear you guys are finished with the treatments. Keeping you both in my prayers. If you need some superhots just say so. If I have any to share with you I will. In fact, any particular species you may want?

Keep them chins up.
