Job position dilemma

Careful you dont get rorted brother. That said Houston sounds cool.

Annnnddd you might want to check out Houston a bit first. Yes it's a big, and I mean BIG, city. Takes almost an hour to drive from one side to the other on I10. There's alot to do there in Houston and in the surrounding area. For instance every year in Magnolia, just to the north, is one of the biggest Renfests held. On the other hand I know from relatives who live near by and have told me that Houston is know as a pretty dirty city with a very high crime rate. If you do decide to go for it look at living outside the city like in Sugar Land or Katy, where my kinfolk live and love it. Being a natural born Texan I would never push anyone away from what we all believe to be the Greatest state in the union, just ask TB, but rather just know where your going. This is a great forum with lots of people from all over and I'm sure there are some who may live in or close by who can give you even better details than I can but this is what I know from my kin in Katy.
 
Yes, Houston is big. If I recall correctly, it's the largest city in the nation in terms of land size, although only 4th in the nation in terms of population. I grew up and still have fam there, so can tell you plenty. Let me know what area you would be working in, if you took that job, and I can suggest some areas to consider for living. Note I-10 is the busiest freeway in the country, regardless of whether you're on it in Houston or L.A., so know if you land around I-10, you're going to want to find alternate routes if you need to get downtown. Like all big cities, if you're at the right place in the burbs, you can have an easy drive to city attractions and also to outdoor attractions, and the Houston area has plenty of both.
 
The first three jobs you mention don't sound so good. Don't get too antsy. Oh and don't forget the most important thing of all DFH...
 
I am thinking the Connecticut job is going to be my best bet as of right now

and Jay, the dogfish head job will never happen, they have way too many people with a shitload more experience than I do applying there every day
 
Dave seems to think you should open a brewpub at the new Turkey Hill building. You should talk to him again about it. He has some new info.
 
When I graduated nursing school, I had 2 job offers at the Mayo Clinic, one in the Neuro ICU, the other in the Trauma/Vascular Operating Room. I didn't take either offer, as I was homesick and wanted to return home to Anchorage(my favorite city in the US). In retrospect, that was probably a mistake.

Coming straight out of school, you probably aren't ready to run things/fix things for a while. My 2 cents(what the current value on my opinion is really worth) is to take the 1st job you mentioned, and let them teach you every aspect of the business from the floor-up. Learn from their Pros, what it takes to do it right, and ask them about their mistakes(so you don't repeat them). Get involved in their expansion. In 5 years from now, your on-the-job training, and experience will take you further than you can imagine. And don't worry, there is lots to do in Green Bay.
