True, you need to have a script and files really to be good on Google and I have that for other sites which of course ties into my analytics accounts. Same for Bing and others but I care less about hem since who in their right mind avoids Google :)

In your public_html you should have a folder like www.chili-con.net and inside of there is the full blown Joomla install.          there was at one time.
 
 
It is also a very good practice to have a devsite if you will so you can test new ideas and changes before moving to production. Mine is stale but as you can see working on a cookbook/recipe section idea.      interesting idea
