Are they all the same pepper in that SFG or different varieties? Just wondering how concerned you are about open pollination or not. We had thunderstorms here last night and wind was gusting to 45... I am still to scared to go out and see the damage...

All different types for the most part. I am not too worried about cross pollination since I do not advertise isolated seeds. As for getting a really cool mix, I love those and always welcome them. The mystery wine as I call it from last season was one of my favorite crosses I have ever grown. Curious to see what the seeds from that plant produce this season.

They actually are, quite funny! There must be millions of them all over my yard. I have stained several shirts with red dots without even know those little buggers were there.

I have never seen them do damage but after all the bumps this year I am not taking chances. Some sort of organic treatment is in order.

I've successfully restored balance w/ ladybugs twice now, but both times the outbreak was a half-dozen or less plants and i unloaded 500 ladybugs/day for 4 days ...

I still see a couple of those ladybugs (which look different than the native one's), so they either established a small colony or they are still around ...

Interesting I’ve always read they infect plants with disease and the link I put in the “edit” says they “bring in more disease and infestation than any other method …” Hope it doesn't harm plants ...

Edit: BTW I clicked "like dis" for the quality of the pics and the poster, not cause I like dem mites.

AzaMax to kill spider mites. I am really surprised you are having a mite problem outdoors, I usually only get them in the greenhouse. I will put them outside for a few days and nature generally takes care of them. Are you having warmer than normal temperatures out East?

Crazy Spring for weather for sure, I'll be using neem or something else. Found some aphids on my Chiltepin Amarillo. Have not seen my normal lady bug posse and need to check on the mantis egg sacks. I'll be posting a proper picture update today, the good, bad and ugly due to high wind and rabbits!

Jeez, weather, aphids, mites, AND rabbits? Sounds like a banner year.

I have been lucky this year, the only pest so far has been slugs, and they are easy to deal with.

Chris I'm with you on the neem oil, I didn't use it but mineral during the winter and it's helped my plants [SIZE=12pt]tremendously[/SIZE]. But now with the heavy sun & heat mineral oil will burn the leaves down here so I'm switching to some other oil or lighter mix per gal.

Maybe I don't see it correct but it looks like your plants are having Bad Leaf Spots?

A ton of the c.chinense got tore up during hardening off then a few violent storms with high winds. Did I mention 6 + rabbits? Most all the leaves that look bad I am allowing to fall off or pulling off. All new growth appears to be green and healthy in most all cases.

I might actually treat for bacterial leaf spot but not 100% sure that they have that since I would think new growth would be impacted as well. I got hit with unperfect storm of natural events right after they went outside.
