Justaguy's 2012 Garden Season

Coming from 2011
http://www.thehotpep...n/page__st__440

About a month earlier then last year and this year I have a place in case I need to pot up.

First I got the germ bed set up and temps stabilized. Left to right go 82° - 87° - 83°

100_1506.jpg

Next I took my old light racks

100_1493.jpg

Slid one over and added a double

100_1494.jpg

Then added a new bulb that hits 6500K to each side to go with the ones from last year

100_1496.jpg

I have to get the bottom shelf done and then i will put up pics to show how the 2 lights differ and IMO will be good.

This year I will have less total plants, but more varieties. Lord please save me from this addiction.

Initially I plan on 123 in ground and 25 in containers(some to be given away)

25 varieties, 27 strains total. Basically 3 strains of T.S., so 25 varieties.

-Naga Morich/Red 7Pot Cross
-Yellow 7Pot
-Naga Jolokia
-Douglah
-Chocolate Habanero
-Thai Variegated
-Pequin Chiapas
-Brain Strain
-Thai Fire
-Indonesian Chile
-Mystery Seeds from Patrick
-Manzano
-Yellow Scorpion
-Fatalii(true)
-Caribbean Red Habanero
-Jimmy Nardello(sweet)
-Bhut Jolokia(Starting for Melium not for my garden)
-Cumari Do Para
-Naga Morich
-Possible Cross # 3
-Red Savina/Fatalii Cross
-Cumari Ou Passarinho
-Trinidad Scorpion "Butch T" from Alphaeon
-Trinidad Scorpion Mouroga from Pepp3rfreak
-Trinidad Scorpion from pods bought from A.J.
-Tepin
-Black Thai

At a later time I will try to update this list with who they came from if not from my seed stock, the number I plan on planting, and the number I put in to germinate. To be safe I am planning on dropping double in for germination so I will most likely be sending out sprouts again this year.

So, should I tell my friend not to worry about the seeds and that the crosses are just jimmys?

BTW - the one Jimmy I got from you is setting pods like crazy. :woohoo:

Yeah brother you can tell him that.

Full sun seems to be the ticket.

Now if my Scorps, Fataliis, Yellow 7's, and Naga Morichs would set I would be happy. Patience is so valuable. :D

To fight the mashing post syndrome I will be posting the beginning of today's update here.
This is a pod update
First and Second Fataliis

100_1726.jpg

Here is a promising pod on one of the Red Savina/Fatalii Cross(f2)'s.
Hoping to see long Fatalii type pods.

Naga Morich babies. :D
100_1728.jpg

100_1731.jpg

Then moving along I found a couple little Yellow 7Pots.
100_1732.jpg

100_1733.jpg

Next I found the first Douglah
100_1735.jpg

Brief Update on the Mottled Douglah...I removed no leaves and let it be while keeping an eye on it. None around it started changing, so no need to do anything, IMO. Look at it now.

And to continue... for you just coming in that have been following closely...LOOK UP, I edited the previous post to get the first pics of today's update in.

Here is the Cross that didn't, I believe.
Last week I pulled one off and tried it. No heat, but that oh so good Nard taste. The odd thing is it had the hot pepper kind of smell.
100_1738.jpg

Next, we have the Naga Jolokias
100_1740.jpg

Here are 2 of the plants. Left of my hand is one and right is another.
The one on the right is dense as hell and has the pods on it.

100_1742.jpg

Here are some that are from seed I got from CMPMAN1974...Thanks Chris

And an angle shot of the back 300 and most of the 23 container plants.

Thanks for looking

Looking great Brian! I have a handful of pods on the Fatalii X Red Savina. I'll take a few snaps later and post em here to compare.

Man Brian your plants are looking fat and happy :onfire: . Lots of pods popping up everywhere. I can't wait to see those yellow 7's gett huge. How many yellow 7 plants u got going this year?

Yeah mine are blowing up. The one has the fatalii shape more then any last year. It will be isolated as best I can here once the dog days of summer are past.

Will have to remember to count, I believe around 10-11.

Man JaG, you have got it going on! Those plants look beautiful and I agree those yellow sevens look amazing. I'd pop one like an M&M...except it wouldn't melt in my mouth...it would literally melt my mouth! Sorry to hear your crosses didn't take. I haven't tried any crosses myself but I think that the plants at my homegrow are going to be crossed like mofo's. I have at least 30-50 bees that run rampant on all of my plants! Maybe I will grow some seeds out and see what I get!

Keep dem' posts coming.

Hey Brian I was out in the garden today and took a buncha pics. Here are your "surrogate babies"

These are the Fatalii X Red Savinas. They are pretty Fatalii looking, but the crazy part is most of the pods are growing vertical. Some fall over, and some stay vertical. I will keep an eye on them and compare them to the ones you have growin.

My Naga Morich is small, but has dozens of pods on it. They are all very uniform and there are multiple per node.

Lastly, the TS Yellow is putting out MONSTER pods. I swear, this photo doesn't do it justice it is about the size of a beetle, VW type. Most have the same look as the pod I pulled it out of, big, blocky, and awesome!

Im really curious to see how yours turn out. If you see anything on my plants that is what you are trying to preserve, let me know and Ill send them over to you. If you want anything else I am growin, let me know as well. After all, yours was the first super pod I ate!

I also have one of your Fatalii x RS F2's via Matt. I have two pods on that are completely different shapes.

If you happen to bag anything for seed and could with one of those branches that would be awesome, but just a few of them ripe to try would be great.

Mine are going like mad too at a short height. I would rather they use the energy for peppers instead of trying to get to 6 foot tall. I have an experiment to do on the 200 where these are come end of season so the shorter they are the less pruning needed.

Yeah they are big and make a great powder. Let me in our PM when you are next to go out so I can get some of my Cherry smoked Yellow Scorpion to you.

hooda thanks for letting mt know. I would have never thought Matt would have sent them out  just kidding of course. I like seeing how they are going since they are not stable yet. Hoping to luck out and get closer to the Fatalii shape and some more of it's flavor in.

Woohoo when Sethsquatch stopped over today I got to try his winds and we walked the gardens. I now realize I have Yellow 7pot and Naga Morich pods all over. Also have Mouruga Scorpions, Butch T's, and Brains.

I need to make room in the freezer.

Hey FarmerGuy, here are 4 of my Nards.
These first 3 are in full sun where I will be planting these next year too.

And here is my best one in the shady end of the 200. Crop rotation in mind and I have learned they LOVE full sun.
