Justaguy's 2012 Garden Season

Coming from 2011
http://www.thehotpep...n/page__st__440

About a month earlier then last year and this year I have a place in case I need to pot up.

First I got the germ bed set up and temps stabilized. Left to right go 82° - 87° - 83°

Next I took my old light racks

100_1493.jpg

Slid one over and added a double

100_1494.jpg

Then added a new bulb that hits 6500K to each side to go with the ones from last year

I have to get the bottom shelf done and then i will put up pics to show how the 2 lights differ and IMO will be good.

This year I will have less total plants, but more varieties. Lord please save me from this addiction.

Initially I plan on 123 in ground and 25 in containers(some to be given away)

25 varieties, 27 strains total. Basically 3 strains of T.S., so 25 varieties.

-Naga Morich/Red 7Pot Cross
-Yellow 7Pot
-Naga Jolokia
-Douglah
-Chocolate Habanero
-Thai Variegated
-Pequin Chiapas
-Brain Strain
-Thai Fire
-Indonesian Chile
-Mystery Seeds from Patrick
-Manzano
-Yellow Scorpion
-Fatalii(true)
-Caribbean Red Habanero
-Jimmy Nardello(sweet)
-Bhut Jolokia(Starting for Melium not for my garden)
-Cumari Do Para
-Naga Morich
-Possible Cross # 3
-Red Savina/Fatalii Cross
-Cumari Ou Passarinho
-Trinidad Scorpion "Butch T" from Alphaeon
-Trinidad Scorpion Mouroga from Pepp3rfreak
-Trinidad Scorpion from pods bought from A.J.
-Tepin
-Black Thai

At a later time I will try to update this list with who they came from if not from my seed stock, the number I plan on planting, and the number I put in to germinate. To be safe I am planning on dropping double in for germination so I will most likely be sending out sprouts again this year.

Nice harvest JAG. Yellow 7 and Jimmy Nardello are two of my favorites.

Do you have Jimmys growing this year??
Let me know Musky

And here is a little update.

Thanks for looking here in the Growing Hot Peppers forum. :D

Great garden and harvest! My garden is slowing starting to creep throughout the yard as well. Colorful pods make for perfect pops of color around the landscape.

Where else would we look for such an awesome grow!!
beautiful Plants and wonderful harvest!!!
Great work!

Kevin
Thanks. I have avoided moving/being moved to GLOGS so far, but I am prepared to change all links to past years if needed.

Very nice plants.
Thanks, they seem to do best with the least interference from me

Nice looking pickins' there Brian!!!
Yeah I am not going to be needing much from Bowers this year, but I will being picking odd stuff for laughs.

Damn! Next weekend I need to get over there and see these beauties in person.
Anytime bro.

I love the color, but the chocolates can be hard to find.

Wow! Nice harvest and masive healthy looking plants!
Thanks. They like the leaf compost they are growing in.

So 3 plants got brought out of isolation today. When I isolate I 1st remove all open or partially open flowers and any already formed pods. I will leave the biggest few already formed pods and mark them with straws. I use straws with stripes on the side. I use different colors depending on what it is from. Tonight when I removed the covers the pre-isolation pods had blue lines. the pods that formed in isolation got red stripes. All pre-isolation pods had ripened fully, but if they hadn't they would have stayed on with their blue stripes so I can see the phenotype and try then for flavor and such. The brain only had 1 pre and it was ripe a week ago(brought it in the house to uncover and harvest it). These came off the Naga Morich(left) and the Morouga Scorpion(right). I am happy with both and will have a good many seeds for each once the red stripes ripen.

Will have to get some shots of the yellow seven iso plant that has one getting beautiful color.

And yesterday while processing my Caribbean Red Habaneros I cut this mother carrying a young one.

Harvest is ramping up.
Scovie I told you about your box coming.
Barley-pop57 watch your mail and enjoy.

Ok so here are a few shots some of you may enjoy.

Fuzzy but true. It is my first ripe isolated Yellow 7Pot this year. And today I just pulled 2 more, 1 to the trash for bad shape/phenotype and the other will be seeded tomorrow. The one below has been seeded and is drying. Will have to get a clear shot of this next one.

The other superhots just got processed today and I forgot to snap pics.

Today I started the weekly harvest. First I got my bucket holder.

Then into the tunnel I went

The bucket man can have a fun time finding the drop off point. Can you find it in the second pic?
100_1881.jpg

100_1882.jpg

He only had to dump 3 times and loves it.

Then we did the front fatalii bed
