Pam said:Just use a hacksaw. As the blade gets dull, it's easily replaced. I use to use one when I was cutting my own meats. If you want to get fancy, get some kind of reciprocating saw. I'm sure folks won't mind a few fingers in their chile.

I think the blade on my hunting knife is only 3 inches long. Short knifes work good. Although, I never minded carrying a machete in the woods either.ross said:so i bought a fixed blade knife too. i sold some stuff on ebay so buying the fixed blade was a wash. its a very small one. a benchmade activator 211. its only 5.5 inches in total, so it should be practical for every day use, and it wont look like i am using a bowie to cut open a box..
