Light Advice?

So I am going to purchase a Jiffy-7 Heated Peat Pellet Greenhouse to germinate my new seeds. My question is, what will the best light to give them from germination to transplanting outside? Obviously they wouldn't be under the light for very long. Also, I would be needing to provide light for MAXIMUM of 72 pellet pots. I may/probably won't germinate that many at one time, but ya never know. Here is a link to the product. Heated greenhouse

I use a 4ft 4bulb t-5 unit. does a great job. I also start seeds in a dvd case with wet paper towel on top of the fixture.

Htgsupply.com is the site they have some great deals on there.
My 6" inline fan and my two t-5 units came from them.

Personally, I would not spend the money on a T-5 setup if you are just going to be raising a few plants...just use 42W (150W equivalent) CFLs...how big a space are you going to light?

I only need the light to supply light for the 72 pellet pot greenhouse, until I move them outside. It maybe at the MOST two feet long?

Is this what you guys are talking about with the CFLs? Do I just put them into lamps or something? Sorry if I seem like I don't know what i'm talking about. Its because I don't! :(

That's right!!

Just visit a lowel's or a home depot store and you'll be able to see for yourself.

Okay, so I went to Lowes today. Will something like this work with a CFL bulb screwed in? Btw, they only carry a 50w (150w equivalent Will that bulb do the job?

yes, the fixtures will work but the metal will get hot...just don't touch it...

Lowes..doesn't look like they carry the 42 watt CFLs...

if you aren't in a big hurry, order them online...

I thought CFL's didn't put out a lot of heat?

the "balast" end will get pretty hot...hotter than a 40 watt shop light and not nearly as hot as an HID or HPS

Ah, okay then. Well any other advice on what I could screw that cfl bulb into that won't be so hot?

If you are a DIYer...you can buy the standard ceramic light fixtures, mount them to something, wire it and plug it in...

another option is this...I use three of the 6 socket lightbars in my growbox..
