Smelling good in the hood!

Cook at 250*F for 3 hours. 1 1/2 hours uncovered, 1 1/2 hours covered

I'm listenin'.......

No. Honestly, I don't. All I know about 'em is that it was one of my Old Man's favorite bands. I'd love to hear more though.

My kid's bday today. Family trip to Hibachi (his choice, not that I mind!) in a minute, right up the street. I'll be back though, haha

Side note: this pork is for beans........ AGAIN! 4th time I've made them in, like, 2 or 3 weeks! Every picnic I go to now; "Mike, any way you could make those beans?" They're a hit, but, damn..... hahaha

:bday: to the little man!!!

Canned heat is like those little Sterno cans under a chafing dish... okay cool, but if you listen to very old blues you can hear them mention it... talking 20s 30s 40s blues. Piedmont and Delta. And you know all those blind musicians? Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Boy Fuller, Blind Willie McTell, Blind Blake, Blind Willie Johnson (and there were many blind that did not put it in their name). They went blind from drinking canned heat. The fuel in the "Sterno" cans because they were broke and they knew it was alcohol. It would give them a high, but also, blindness.

Pretty dedicated drinkers. Fascinating. Do you know how long it took them to go blind? I assume it was not instantaneous.

Googled. Taught me sumpin! Thanks. Seems from the 70s and is room deoderizer.

When I was a kid, my friend huffed gasoline and sprayed Scotch Guard into a rag and sniffed it. He kept a bottle under the seat of my Ford Escort. Fuck you bringin back memories dude. Never did any of that stupid shit myself.

BAAHAAHAA!!

Old times were hard for kids catching a buzz.. Unless you could steal alcohol from the parties.

There's a place in town called the "Leather Pouch" that sold it. It recently closed after 49 years in business. They had all the latest and greatest paraphernalia and everyone knew it but they were under the radar because it was a real leather goods shop.I think they were the first in town to sell Huaraches, do you remember those waay back in the late 70's?

We had the Bayou Blaster but I know it was called other names in your town or area of the country. My memories growing up in my town are epic, they make movies of the stuff I've participated in. I could write a book but I might be killed once people recognize me.

One thing it proved is that we're old....
