Mill's 2013

Well I managed to totally ignore my grow this past year. Had some great harvest of some great types but didn't have a lot of time to get pictures up and stuff like that. 2013 will probably be more of the same with a daughter due at the end of Feb but I will try and keep it updated.

Pics to close out '12 and ring in '13...

Sprouting some Reapers I won in a giveaway.

Baby C. Lanceolatum(lets try this one more time...).

How tiny it actually is, 2oz solo cup, Reaper behind.

Those two are in a cabinet I built a few years back with 4-23watt cfls and reflective insulation lining the sides. It also houses an overwintering C. Rhomboideum which has seen better days.

Here are the lights.

That is one of two cabinets I have going, the other has in it a Wild Texas Tepin and one 65watt cfl in a reflector. This one is going to become a bonchi for my wife's desk at work.

Other than that its finally slowing down around here before classes start back up in early Jan so I have time to prep the rest of the overwinters.

Looking good Mills!  The OW's are taking off man.   I have a Guru Fatalii going right now with tons of pods,  I'll have to check back in and see how they compare.  What a little cutie you have,  absolutely beautiful little girl.  Good job man!

Fatalii, Morouga, and Bhut  all look fine.
Your daughter has that big eyed smile happening............adorable

Thanks, the Moruga is seriously taking off now.  Kind of creepy how quickly it is growing.

She makes me smile like that too.

Thanks Jamison.  If let to go, the Guru Fatalii pods get HUGE too.  Well at least for a Fatalii.

Thanks Noah you are the man!!

No problem.

Some fun pictures.  Experimenting with my new camera...

I believe they are Birgits that just popped up out of no where.  Birds eating pods and pooping.  Plus a Solanum Nigrum underneath.

Two big ole Nigrum plants with the little Birgits down to the right.  These things are really cool and I think I am going to grow them for real next season.

Flower bunch

Choco Bhut.  New this year, not the overwinter.

Cool Moruga

Got a few of these around as well.  I think they are a wild eggplant.  Name escapes me right now but will find it later.  Really cool also.

New camera = WIN

Briggy! Yes, definitely a vigorous and prolific variety. I'm waiting for a taste test. They look like they will make great powder. I thought someone/somewhere said that they taste good green??? Idk, only one way to find out....to be continued.

That choco bhut looks menicing and the Moruga looks like it'll kick the choco Bhut's ass......and yours lol

What plant is that flower bunch off of?

See, I need to learn more about wild edibles. I always see things and I'm like "can I eat that" and then I think "I'd rather live".....That would be cool if it was a wild egg plant.

Keep it rollin' MWM

Nice pod shapes on that Choc Bhut and Moruga.

I'd be careful eating any wild Solanums, unless I knew with absolute certainty it was safe.  They're kind of like wild mushrooms in that regard.

Not planning on eating any of them till I know for sure but I think nearly all wild nightshades are safe when FULLY ripe and prepared properly.  The eggplant is safe I just need to find out which one it is.

Birggy is AWESOME.  On of my favorite flake peppers as well as seasoning sauce dishes for the wife and I.  She likes it hot but not over the top and the Birgit is the way to go there.  I have to thank Wayright for that.

Right.  I do not plan on eating any of them except the eggplant.  It is safe from all the research I have done.  The nightshades are relatively safe when fully ripe but I dont plan on trying them.

That moruga looks mean and those solanums are also interesting

Some more wilds to try out :)

I got a ton of wild nightshades...and you're right usually safe when fully ripe. They can be a source of disease so I try to pull them all. Losing battle...too many berries an birds to ever get rid of them. I have pepper volunteers too...and a ton of half eaten pods...damn birds love my pequin!

Your pods look painfully awesome...congrats on the new cam!

Its late, nothing new since last time.  Not getting much ripe right now since everything started so late.  I need to get some plant overview shots though but going out of town tomorrow till monday.  Promise I will update then.

Temps aren't an issue for me at all.  The plants are loving it here.  It is the rain and the fact that I planted out more than 2 month late.  I will still get some great harvests in the next few months but I should have started back in May.
