Chinese quality has flip flopped from years ago (in a good way) but a "buy american" sentiment usually comes from a "job drain" disgust, not for quality (sadly).

Yes, that's one of the reasons it is so cheap for european and american companies to have things manufactured there. There are plenty of reasons not to buy things made in China, but the point was that quality isn't one of them.
