Scottish meat pies are not like Jamaican beef patties. JBP are a type of empanada, totally different. Pies keep the pie shape (like Australian). Patties (empanadas) are like sealed tacos.
dude...you forget who yer talkin to?? I know the difference. I meant the filling. (just messin)

Oh the filling! LOL. I was like, dude this guy's from NJ, he knows Jamaican beef patties! Hehe. NJ/NY'ers all know. I love the Tower Isles ones (good drunk food). Love the yellow, flaky crust, and the spicy filling. So good!

I would like to know the dimensions of those pie pans...I have seen recipes for meat pies from the British Isles.

Americans tend to think of "pie" in the terms of custard or fruit. Thus the dimensions of the pan tend to wide, shallow, and feeds 6-8. Those in the vids were clearly intended as individual servings (for individuals with good appetite!) and appear to be much deeper than pie pans are here?

Not this American. (Not always anyway);) Pie means just about anything inside a crust. Used to make a chicken a la king thing inside a pie crust. Heaven baby. Chunks of chicken, potato, carrots, shrooms, baby peas. Make the gravy from the roasted chicken leftovers.

You don't need the dimensions of pans, find yourself a pan they cook them huge muffins in or you could use a deep dish pie tin and make a "family size" pie. Pretty sure you and the boys could finish one off Celeste.

Your Naga pie looks fantastic. I would give it a go but I'm fairly certain one bite would have been enough. I would have been stealing Dave's milk for sure.

Great videos Neil and Co, thanks.

Ditto. Pie is sweet or savory. Pizza is pie.

I never thought so. Pie, to me, involves a filled dish. Pizza, IMO is flat and, with the exception of Sicilian, level and piled high.

You are right about the sweet/savory thing.

and..I WANT A RECIPE! Come on Neil! I won't share with anyone. SWEAR!
