Notre Dame in the BCS Championship

First, I have no problem with Notre Dame, in fact I root for them more often than not. Saying that, this team is the pinnacle of "smoke and mirrors". :rofl:

The BCS is absolutely, positively loving that the Fighting Irish are going to Miami... the millions that will be made because of their 12-0 season, even I want to drool at the cash grab that is coming to south Florida.

I teach a student whose mother went to Notre Dame and graduated in 1988. The whole family is going to Miami and does not care about the cost. I'm sure there are thousands of alumni who are doing the same.

In my humble opinion, the Irish only stand a chance against Georgia. Saying that, stranger things have happened in one game.

Thoughts, comments, angry posts?!? LOL

It is pretty funny that had Notre Dame lost this past weekend then it was going to be 1st vs 3rd for the National Championship game. I think ND should have to play the SEC's 3rd place team to qualify for the Big Game.
 
I got nothing against ND but it was obvious they shouldn't have been there. 12-0 is a wonderful season and something to be proud of. After that fiasco they're going to struggle to remember the good of the season. That was an embarrassment of epic proportions. Alabama's offense did what they wanted, when they wanted. ND didn't beat themselves here. Can't put it off on not playing for a month--Alabama had the same break..The reason ND couldn't get into a rhythm is because Alabama's defense wouldn't let them. Period.

Now don't think I'm an Alabama fan as I'm not. Don't care either way, pretty much the same as ND. I don't like Alabama's coach but so what.

As for someone's comment about Ohio State being 12-0 and not being involved? That's what happens when you get caught cheating they take away your rewards.
 
The way the Alabama QB and the Center were carrying on towards the end of the game you would have thought 'Bama was losing 42-14.

That was a dominating performance by Alabama.
 
Yes I am a Buckeye and must defend my team. :cool: I'm not sure how we "cheated" but ok.

Didn't really cheat, you all broke the rules. Breaking the rules has consequences. That and you guys didn't play anyone either like ND didn't.

The nice thing about Alabama is they keep Mississippi from touching Georgia!

And yes,,,OSU did cheat! They used ineligible players to get their ONLY ever SEC victory against Arkansas!

Yes we did break rules. Set by the NCAA who should be abolished but that's another discussion. And I would also agree we wouldn't have fared to we'll in the natl champ despite being 12-0.

The NCAA declared them eligible until after the bowl game. And the NCAA is always correct :)

I was just trying to be nice with my words about ND loosing, and the Buckeyes not being rated properly.
