yeah my plants are coming back from wind damage and were small too start there season so i'm feeding them high nitrogen tea with some potassium and phosphorus.  But yes some of us grow that other stuff too.

I know you do, that is why I was asking if we were still talking peppers since it would really affect the answer I gave.

Got my bike fired up finally. $256 in late fees and registration. $160 for a new battery. OUCH. Thought I would share and try out my camera phone.

Nice looking bike Chuck!

You really need to quit posting those pics, it's just going to make me spend ;)
LOL. That's payback for posting the tractor pics. A 4x4 wheeler would be cool. Then I could get a winch and snow plow.

wn.
Thanks Bill. She has been a work in progress. Did all the work my self. Except for the paint, did the body work though. Even built the engine up. Not putting any more money in her until she's paid for. One more year. Went for a ride this morning before the weather got hot. 92 out.

Beautiful bike :P . I love the color, what's the name of it?
I named her Belladonna. But she is a 2009 Harley Davidson FLHX (AKA Street Glide). Thanks for stopping by.

Sorry. The flake is called Spectra FX. It's a color changing effect. Cobalt blue to emerald green. You spray the flake over a dark base. My base is black.

Update time.

Just built this compost bin today. Not finished.

Well that's it for now. Have to go out front and finish a raised bed I'm working on.

My apologies for missing the foodie update, I would have showed. I promise! Is there any left?

I see you've been busy! Just a ton of saaaweeet looking plants. I wish my whole garden was a SIP pot.

Glad you're getting into composting, you'll quickly be surprised at how much stuff you can add to the pile.

Thanks for the great update!

Wonderful grow Chuck. You're really ramping things up. I like your coordinated pots for each pepper variety. Very cool looking. I grew in containers on pallets last year, but your plants look 100x better than mine did. Keep it going!

Thanks Scott. Sorry about the pics, had to use iphone. The food doesn't last long.LOL. The plants are starting to respond to the tea I've been brewing. I foliar full strength, then I dilute 50% for drench. I'm still afraid of nute burn. I used the last of my compost to fill the raised bed I built this afternoon. Didn't know what I was doing the first time around. I will probably make a couple more compost bins. I need to get some leaves. Any tips and or suggestions will be welcomed.

Thanks Adam. I learned a lot from last years grow. Started to late last year. The rest I have learned from this wonderful community of growers. THP feels like a second home and family. I love containers, but next year I'm growing in the ground as well as containers. Building a 12x24ft metal hoophouse this year. It will serve dual purposes. Extend my season a few weeks or more in October, as well as provide shade during the intense Summer sun we have up here. It will also provide shade to the plants outside of the structure. My main goal is seed stock this year. Then I can give away seeds and keep a bunch for myself.

Thanks for reading guys. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Chuck

I have in the past just stopped and taken them from the curb when homeowners rake their yards. You can also check with the county and see what they do with them. I try to turn anything I'm composting once a week, and keep it moist.

I used to clean horse pens for the manure and compost it out, but it contained too many weed seeds. The piles got hot but didn't kill all of them, then all the weeds had to be pulled.

I currently get my leaves from work. The guys that maintain the grounds put them in my truck. I in turn share produce with them. Right now I have the leaves mixed with cow manure, the pile needs to be turned, but that can wait.
