Just trying to get some feedback on what everyone thinks about hiring and allowing office eye candy (a hot girl) to work in the office although they are obvious incompetent and don't really contribute much to the office outside of a nice view..
Basically we needed a receptionist and the girl that got hired didn't have any experience, customer service skills, but obviously got a nice new rack for her 21rst B-day!! At first it was all good, but a few years later they are promoting her to an assistant and she cam barely answer the phones and is horrible at the job. As a manager I can say she isn't very bright, can't make decisions on her own, and outside of being able to answer questions about face book or twitter not too good on a computer either. I can totally understand having her sit at the front desk to create clients and or customers (everyone appreciates the nice view and our UPS guy comes by daily to pickup), but why move her into the office where she will actually be required to work??? I'm totally against it as I can honestly say I would rather not have anyone and just put the extra load on the other staff that know how to work, but the owner is insistent about giving her a "chance". I can see her missing deadlines, F"N up jobs and actually causing more work for everyone??? However she will be sitting outside of the big dog's office!
Call me a hater if you will, but in today's economy I just think we need to focus more on hiring people that can do a good job and not just for show.
