Oh Good - Now a Cyclone

My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. Hopefully it will leave you guys and your plants untouched.

Hey bent, When are you going to have another batch of your sauce ready? I'm out and need to save up for the shipping for about 4 bottles. You've got me hooked. ;)

Dick last night the winds were about 270 kilometres an hourI would say they have woundit back a bit by now, it had some power in it.
I thought thats what you ment Pam, droughts in our area are pretty cyclic thingswe are after all subtropicAL.
One of the major issues regarding the drought was how fast Brisbane and the south east portion of Queensland grew in population without the infrastructure being put into place. so the last few years we had a fairly significant drought but due to poor infastructure it effected us very badly.
I think North Queensland has had the worst flooding in a long time, I don't think were going to get it that bad down here but we certainly are gonna get something out of this.

Already getting overcast here.

The fun comes when the cyclone starts bouncing off the coast - it heads out & picks up water and intensity then comes back drops into a tropical low & dumps rain then does it again. Can go on for a while.

Pf - the habanero crop was wiped out again due to flooding up north. I'm growing them as fast as I can :P - 7-pot-pain will be out very soon.

please send me some of that rain guys...I really need it...looks like it is going to be a long hot summer here...the holy quintity will love it...

Yeah they look pretty from above but try standing under it.....

I've never experienced one and of that i am glad...

We NSW folks just get all the nice easy rain that comes from the low pressure system as the cyclones move south and loss their force....:).....Well mid to low NSW. High NSW still get a bit of a flogging...

lol - They used to be regulars here around december. I remember thinking that taping up the windows was part of the xmas decorations

....I'll take the odd cyclone over winter frost any day.

it doesn't look like it's going to hit us directly although I have relatives near Hervey Bay.

Whats worrying is this is exactly what happened to cause the 1974 floods in Brisbane.
Good luck mate, I hope iot doesn't do anything but a pass by.
