Oh Good - Now a Cyclone

Just what we need...

it doesn't look like it's going to hit us directly although I have relatives near Hervey Bay.

Whats worrying is this is exactly what happened to cause the 1974 floods in Brisbane.

Bent...do they use the Saffir/Simpson scale down there?...if so, thats a big one...

thanks Bent...you be safe...

cheers - will be fine here...might start building an ark tomorrow, we should start seeing rain Monday night according to forecast...may not stop for a week.

Bent and Stillz, how far inland are you guys?

Here's hoping Hamish? wobbles away from land, not towards.

I'm pretty much on moreton bay but we are still like 3 or hours drive south, we won't get too much damage but heaps and heaps of rain most likely.

Stillmanz: 2km
Bent: 25km
Lord V:10km
me: 20km

Thing is tho', it's height above sea level, and as stillz says, it's gonna cross inland about 150-300km north (90-175 miles).

Also, we may not get the destructive winds here, but it will rain. Alot.

Yeah, I live where we get brushed by hurricanes, rarely more then rain, but I understand how far out the rain bands extend.

I do think it's a bit ironic that y'all are worried about too much rain at this point.
