I wouldn't know how to act if Retta was to do this "cleaning of the kitchen" you speak of. In fact, I can count on one hand in the 6 years we've been dating that she's even cooked for me.

Any woman that can handle a Black & Decker with confidence should be permanently excused from kitchen duties. :)

And for the tomfoolery in Vegas...........looks like TONS of fun for you dudes! All that Good Stuff........ great times, I'm sure~

mrs. blues does own more power tools than I do......she even did her own remodeling in her Anchorage condo. Me? I'll stick to the dishes.

Ok boys and girls, I am home and somewhat sober now, ready to tell my side of the story. First of all let me thank my gracious host TB and his lovely wife Mrs. TB for their inviting me into their home. This whole story starts with my arrival in the Big Dry Ditch on Saturday night. I went out for a bit of gambling (lost) then a nice steak dinner at the Embers in the Imperial Palace. Then back to the casino for much more gambling (won this time). Finally at around 5:30am local time (which was 8:30 to MY biological clock) I staggered to the room and fell asleep for all of THREE hours! I met TB on the strip at around 12:30 and the tomfoolery began. He promptly drove me to his neck of the woods and his favorite liquor store, which if I must say I have seen smaller WALMARTS! After loading (I'm not kidding) a SHOPPING CART full of booze we headed for the TB abode. Not before a quick stop through his favorite hippy joint which was also impressive. The drinking commenced almost immediately with some beers and some tequilla. After a tour and a little guitar solo (TB is quite good) we started on the munchies. Ok I am going to stop right here and grab a drink. I shall return.

Ok sorry, spending a few minutes with the boy before he is in bed (he waited up for me). Resuming... First thing I tried was the ceviche and OMG was it good. That is one of my regrets from my visit is that I didn't eat more of that. The Guac was fantastic as I expected. The salsa was good too, but I didn't eat much of that. He also had a couple of homemade hot sauces hiding in the fridge that were/are fantastic. TB will have to correct me, but I think they were a habanero sauce and a pasilla sauce. His smoked salmon was just like I remembered (fantastic), and the fondido with the chorizo was great. Ok phenomenal after we added AJ's Bhut puree to it. After another three or four beers and shots of tequilla as well as the ceremonial DuckFart we started on the entrees. TB decided to hand over the reigns to me for a couple of the items. I made a marinade for the skirt steak with orange and lime juices, garlic, cilantro, green onion, habanero, sea salt, pepper, whatever else I am forgetting, and my spice rub mix. We also made a tuna steak with an Oriental dipping sauce, Haddock with TB's Famous Meuniere sauce and some Fatalii Grilled Shrimp. Every bit of this food was unbelievable. I am lucky that I remember it all, but it was one of the highlights of my trip. We continued drinking beers and shots until Mrs. Blues came home. We did manage to squeeze in one of the world's best beers in a '87 Thomas Hardys and some good Belgians before it was over. TB and Mrs. TB took me home with a care package and lots of stories. I am truly thankful to have met them and spent a day there. Thank you both for an awesome time and I will see you next year!

Oh and lest I forget TB, sorry about the grill. I am a messy cook. But, I was smashed you know! Tell MissyLou I said hello. Everything (the beer, fish, sauces) made it home ok too.

Just talked to Jay on the phone. He and Passow are engaging in drunken hooliganism as I type. Jay mentioned he was eating fish taco's...then he mentioned smoked salmon...

wheebz...Jay give you a sample of the salmon?
