Overseas shipping problems

Yea actually I had that prob this year.Seems mine made it out of the US but couldn`t get back into the states. That or our mail person is a pepper nut too. Oh well maybe next time.

Well,I guess smuggling has its dangers!GAWD!Well, probably was my fault for not paying attention to the warning I had previously read about ,and using the bday card trick. In these days of Instability I should have thought twice about a CD mailer!Unfortunately I shipped the 2nd the same way!Wow,if this doesn't make it I can't ever send hers back!!!!!

Has anybody ever had a seed trade shipment get disapeared?
This is very upsetting to both parties.I shipped first class to brazil.I received my seed,But I shipped my seed a week earlier...
I shipped in a CD Mailer.I have been trading all over the world lately and this is the first problem to crop up.I could have shipped registered for something like $12 but I'm unsure if this would have helped...WTF are there now pepper police out ther?
hi scoville
did you attach a customs form to your parcel, declareing what was shipped?
this is generally all that is required.
I mail seeds to spain, italy, and other european countries with no problems.

Some Italians have been asking for seeds ... I will try to send them but dont know if Customs will seize it...

Hiya Trinnie the best way is to but them in a birthday/Greetings card as Italian customs always seems to ignore. I have sent a large amount of cards to Italian friends with seeds in without a hitch,I sent one in a bubble wrap..It didn't get there,Sent the same person some seeds in a card..Got there no problem ;)

I sent hundreds of seeds to Brazil, in bubble envelopes (that I declare at customs), plain envelopes too, and they usually arrive, with some exceptions. Once I got the envelope back saying it was forbidden by Brazilian Law to import seeds :).
Only once I had a problem with Australia. The seeds were retained at customs, even if they were declared and identified ...
My major problem is with Italy... ! Half of the envelopes disappear, and from 10 packets I sent with sauces, 7 of them did not reach destination ! :) And from Italy to here it's the same problem... many disappearing ! ... I guess the Italian postmen love peppers too much !!!!!! ;)
Here in Portugal, I never had any problems with customs when receiving shipments from abroad ! Coming in whatever way !

Bubble wraps always seem to draw attention,Brazil ones i use Royal mail Envelope airmail not surface and there tracked into Brazil,Peru,Mexico,Chile,Costa Rica,Bolivia and even Argentina without a hitch.

Yes my Tolerance is no where Near R.B That is true but i would have perceivered :)

I guess all of us smugglers will have a heyday with all the xmas cards going out this month. The reason I've been using bubble wrap is I've heard complaints of people getting crushed seed!

Nope! Unless the seeds themselves are illegal. You can send chili seeds, even if customs find them, it's no problem.
