The plant looks fantastic, Paul, regrettably it also looks like it has crossed with a rocoto. The Card was grown on the other side of the house from anything it could cross with, but they are highly prone to hybridization by rocotos and it looks like a bee might have managed to do the job on it. The original seeds I received prior to last season produced one true and one rocoto-crossed rocopica (you're actually growing out an F2 seed from that plant I put on the train). The rocopica was an extremely nice plant, IMO, and your looks to be as well. I'll have 100% isolated seed after this season, so if you're still interested and want to give me another chance I'll fix that for you.
It's actually a different strain. I have one of yours growing too that I planted late last year and I'm very happy to have the second set of genetics. As it gets bigger and produces this season I'll be comparing the two. I'll likely isolate each and run a cross in the hopes of broadening the genetic pool. Thanks again for sharing Bhuter, you are the man! I do have a pair of CGN cards (same genetic source) that produce a lighter flower and calyx and a more orangey versus dark red pod.

on the chinense plants in the greenhouse and wilds
in the grow shelf. I like Nature’s Good Guys because
you can get as few as 150 ladybugs at a time. This is
a package of 300. Looks like just about are all frisky
and ready to go:

If they hang around long enough to do some good,
I will be happy. Time will tell. Only 6 weeks to plant-out
The new starts look great Paul! I want to try the Antep Aci Dolma here again. Frank (morugawelder) sent me seeds 3 seasons or so ago.
They grew great, produced early, and well too! But the bugs ruined every pod. I bet they would due well in a 15 gallon bag.
Keep doing what you're doing

I hope I can learn a few tricks from following here, so I can make my c. pubescent produce soon
PaulG said:Not sure there is much to learn here, my friend.
Most of my rocotos don't even have flowers.
The rest have more aphids than flowers!

Yeah he is! I have many rocotos and none of mine have any pods yet
I have a feeling yours will be over the top
successful once the season gets going, CD!
Maybe MF and I should get aphids too as they seem to be great rocoto pollinators.
Doubt Nature's Good Guys sells them, though.
Keep up the good, Paul, things are looking great!
PaulG said:So sick of having aphids inside my garage I
decided to move the wilds and chinenses in
beverage cups out to the fence shelf at the
north end of our back yard. It’s sink or swim!
According to Accu-weather, nights are supposed
to be north of 42-43F for the next couple of months.
We’ll see. Everything is outside or in the greenhouse
now except the baccatums and the BB Habanero.
Veggie seeds go into the germinators this weekend.
