This is the sum total of ripe Cappuccino Chiltepin pods  :

Pulled the Texas Tepin plant today. Took awhile,
but got a slew of pods:

Cold Duck!

Too bad you didn't have a little longer for the orange spice jalaps.  That's a good bunch of nice-looking pods.  Some big blocky rocotos, too.

Seems like the Aji Benito was a pretty big hit.
The Aji Benito was a superb specimen. Big and
productive and pretty tolerant of the hot summer
weather.

Yeah, it’s too bad that the aphids and June Suck
held the plants back at first. The OS Jalapeño
would have been a nice little plant.

The Variegated Jalapeño in the greenhouse is
really wilting. Hoping for new growth to appear
at the nodes to signal the plant’s survival. The
pods were very soft yesterday so I decided to
pull some to keep them from getting moldy on
the inside, hoping that at least a few seeds
might be viable. When I opened them up, a nice
surprise was waiting.

Largest pod, off-white pod, green variegation:

White pod with Some green variegation:

The seeds all came off the placentas very easily,
so I am really hopeful they are viable. Only three
seeds in the whole bunch that were bad, and all
were nice and plump, like jalapeño seeds should be.

Top: all white pod, but for a small speck of green.
Bottom: Dark green and light green variegation:

A good amount of seeds in this pod:

The small dark green variegated pod:

All-in-all, I am very happy with the results. I still
have hope for the plant’s survival, but at least there
will be seeds for next season. A good amount will
go to catchthebear so he can continue his experiment
with this variety. Big shout out to Matt for sharing these!

I really liked the Orange Spice overall but pods are just small. Every last stinking one though was screaming hot for a jalapeno. Im going to try Jalamundo instead next year.
I took a little sliver of each pod from along side the
placenta. Not a huge sample, but definitely some
heat. I imagine they would make great poppers!

Two nights in the high 20’s smacked most of
the plants down. The baccatums handled it as
well as anything, as well as a couple of rocotos
under the tree canopy in the front yard.

The Tatiana Yellow has five pods almost ripe, and
two of the remaining four are showing a little color:

A tale of two pods. I think only one of my isolated
pods is going to make it. It’s a bit soft, so may be
pulled soon:

A couple of pods on Dragon49’s PDN x BJ were
getting pretty soft, so I pulled them. I’m thinking
that this super dark purple is their ripe color:

No seeds in the runt, but a few that appear to
be ripe in the larger pod:

There are a three more pods on the plant. I’m going
to leave them I until they get soft as well. With a
string of nights around 40*F and some sun in the
forecast, they have a good chance of making some
decent seeds.

Yours got way red, DF!   That was cool to see.  Mine never got as red as that.  I can't see yours up close, Paul, but mine were definitely more like yours when I finally had to shut them down and it seemed like they hadn't changed much for some time.  Might be worth popping open a test pod and seeing if the seeds look mature.

I will do that today. The matte color makes it harder
to tell what's ripe. It's a great plant, full of awesome
pods.
