Just getting this page of urls up so I can
start the next season's grow log.

"Welcome to the New Year/ New Season!"

The runty first pod on the Trippaul Threat F9 'White Lightening':

Looks it will follow the purple-lime green-yellow-white
ripening sequence.

"Looking at several days of showers. Quack. Quack."

Showers have pretty much passed. Looking at
four days of sunny, warm weather (low 80's to
lo 90's). NWS stays 1.2" of rain in the last 3 days.
That should get all the big containers primed for
the summer.

Small container plants spent this round of storms
under the canopy where they could be safe from
heavy downpours:

Wilds across the bottom, others on the right side.
Patio Baby eggplant, lower right.

Sunny weather kicks off tomorrow according to the
AccuWeather monthly forecast. If it holds we may
avoid the dreaded JUNE SUCK this season
I wonder what Ma Nature will put in its place   ?

The Rhodys and Azaleas have enjoyed the cooler,
wet weather:

We're on the same pattern and I've had more than enough of the recent rain.  Really looking forward to warm sunny weather.  The plants that have rooted into their final homes should really take off now.
Looks like you will get your wish this weekend, CD!

I'd like some of your showers at the moment Paul, it's scary hot here :mouthonfire:
Plants look great!

Getting that way here, now, Fabrizio. A shower would
be nice . Our one inch of rain didn’t last long!

I love how neat and green your garden looks Paul. I know that doesn't happen by accident.
It sort of proceeds by fits and starts, Siv,
a history of jury-rigging and retro-fitting

Things are looking great Paul! And it seems the good weather will hold, hopefully our plants go into overdrive
Looks like holding and then some, HM.
Can there be too much of a good thing?

A couple of random pics…

Tatiana Yellow Rocoto seems to like this spot under
the Doug Fir and rhododendron shrubs. Sporting a
few flowers:

Goliath Jalapeño ripening up the first round of pods
in a #2 short nursery pot:

The heat has made them get a bit over ripe,
but the seeds should be good. This plant’s seed
came from a solid white pod on a variegated plant.

It's 110˚F, let's fire up the smoker!

The pepper plants, especially the Cumari praetermissums are
really wilty . Had to move a few to the north side of the house.
Amazing they can look so perky the next morning. Don't know
how they are going to handle three days over 110˚F. They will
sail through the 90 degree temps after this!

I didn't recognize the smoker and at first thought you had a fire in your yard  Since your lawn is already parched...

I've had my plants tolerate up to 38°C. They don't like that, but they'll survive. Flower drop, leaf drop, ... but they'll live. You can come to my place, only 28-30°C. Bring the smoker, I'll make sure the beer is cold :D

That sounded pretty tempting on our 116-degree day!
That was a brutal three days of temps over 110. Peppers
mostly did okay, but some of the iconic PNW plants like
rhododendrons and Japanese maples really suffered.
They hung on for two days, but the third day was just
too much.

So, WHAT THE HELL'S IN THE SMOKER? Curious minds must know lol.
There were three whole chickens, but it was just
too darn hot to take pics

The Sri Lanka Chili F3 cross is putting out lots of nickel-sized
pods. Looks like red is the final ripe color:

The F1 had upright half-inch red pods. The F2 had yellow pods
of some kind for Don’t Panic, and now the F3 has these red
mini-pumpkins.

Any thoughts on these, Mitch?
