Dwarf Chiltepin 'Hermosillo', Semillas la Palma 2022

Time to quit dragging my feet and get this season underway.
Last season was OW plants only with two exceptions. This
year I am growing all new plants from seed gathered from
my 2022 harvest and limited to Tepin and Chiltepin varieties.
If the spirit moves me I might try for some OW chinenses
varieties later on.

Finally getting around to plant -out/potting on over the next week or so.

Still a few more in the grow shelf. The c. chinese will go into #2 or 2 gal. containers,
as well as some of the tepins and chiltepin rojos, for OWs.

Hey, Dieter, thanks for checking in! Weather here is typical for late Spring,
but I think we're turning the corner to warmer weather. About a dozen
more plants to pot on, then hooking up the irrigation for the Summer. Whoo-hoo!

Apologies for the lack of updates I promise to do better

A lot has happened since June16th. Some very hot weather and
dry periods with little plant growth or flowering. August saw vigorous
growth and flowering / pod setting.

Plants fed Miracle grow tomato food all summer. All plants in #2 or
2-gal nursery pots.

Red Habanero 17, 2023 seed. This is about 35% of the origilsl
plant ff a wind related incident. It was in full pod-ripening mode.
The heaviest branch broke off completely and i managed to tie
up this branch. That was three days or so ago, so far so good!

Grinding use as a powder/seasoning. Other wise just too darn hot for me.

This is a c. flexuosum, recent transplant:

Left these tall plants outside; c. chacoense, Purple Thunder F5 yellow,
Trippaul Threat F7 violet, all over 40-42" (around 1+ meter):

Leading the indoor ripening charge:

Red Tepin, Texas Hot Peppers, large pods, relatively speaking:

Dwarf Chiltepin, long branches, 3-5 or so, cut off, leaving a nice compact shape:

In 'outdoor' news, peppers are in large 15T and 20-gsllon containers.
Size of plant relative to the larger sized containers. Plants are loaded
with pods.the usual cool-fall-weather worries in full force! All these are
tepins and pequines, unless otherwise noted.
