I also find the question disturbing. We are all different. Our differences do not make any of us better/worse or greater/lesser than another - differences are just differences, and we need our differences for us to work well. We cannot all be specialists in the same thing, else other needs are unmet. No, you didn't make me think about the differences, you made me think how sad it is that people try to one-up each other and build walls instead of appreciating that we each simply have different strengths and weaknesses and learning to use each other's strengths to better the whole.
Doctors receive a lot of training, and have to have a certain level of understanding in order to do their jobs. Computer programmers also receive a lot of training, and have to have a certain level of understanding in order to do their jobs. But is one smarter than the other simply because their knowledge sets are different? No. We need doctors and we need computer programmers in today's world. We would not be better off without either one. A doctor does not need to have the same skills as a programmer in order to be a good doctor. Likewise, a programmer does not need to have the same skills as a doctor in order to be a good programmer. The doctor does need to have some basic knowledge about how to use an application the programmer creates for the doctor's use, but he does not need to understand the "guts" of the program - he just needs to use it. Likewise, the programmer would be smart to have a basic understanding of first aid, but he doesn't need to know how to do surgery - he just needs to know when and how to take an aspirin or put on a bandaid. You cannot reasonably compare the two and claim one to be better or worse than the other at all - the logic falls apart.
Similarly, comparing those who only eat peppers to those who grow is a senseless endeavor with no real logic or merit to it. Not everyone has the resources or space or skill to grow, and not all growers have the heat tolerance some who only eat have. You cannot reasonably make a comparison and call either greater or lesser at all - they are just different.
