Over the weekend 96STRAT held a contest.Prize some of his NICE BBG7 SEEDS.Actually he had two contests one on Thursday and one on Saturday.I entered both for a chance to win these prizes.Well I came up short on both contests.Really had a lot of fun on these.Thursdays winner scuba Steve and Saturdays winner Scorched. Two nice and generous members as we are already well aware of.
Sunday morning I received a PM from 96STRAT informing that Scorched had elected to pass his winnings on to me.I am very grateful and extremely happy that I will receive this GIFT.JUST WANT TO SAY THANKS TO TONY FOR AWARDING ME WITH HIS WINNINGS.ONCE AGAIN UNDENIABLE PROOF THAT MEMBERS HERE AT THP AND PEPPER PEOPLE ARE THE BEST.

Will have to move them to 10-15 gal pouches and give them something to climb stat, but as their journey was a day longer w/ USPS, I planted them straight away ...
cool glad they made it at least. keep them out of the direct sun until you see some new growth. Even if the vine above ground dies off leave it in there and it should shoot up new shoots once fully rooted.

I've got them under awning and out of the direct rain, but where they'll get some splash wetness, and where they will get filtered sun for about 2-3 hours/day in the afternoon ...

The pepper plants there look the best of my locations, so I brought them there ...

Are they all the same type? They looked pretty similar to my untrained eye ...

SmokenFire sent me a sampler pack a few months ago and I really should have taken a pic of the bottles right away. But I couldn't resist and went straight to work sampling them to provide feedback. Before I knew it (~three days later) the bottles were half empty and I never got around to taking a pic. So now I feel like a dick.
I'm not sure if his "Test batch #3" got renamed as something else (maybe Tiki Torch?) but that's my favorite sauce of all time. Cap and Lava Lips are right up there, too. Very well balanced sauces with good, clear, deliberate pepper flavors graced with just the right ratios of acidity, sweetness and salt. It is evident that he put a lot of time into making these sauces exactly what they are.
I really need to PM Dru and find out how to procure more of that stuff! Life was good when I wasn't so concerned about rationing the last few tbsp of each sauce! (I still keep the empty bottle of Cap on the counter just so I can sneak a sniff now and then and float off to my happy place.)
Pepper people are the best and SmokenFire stands out among this crowd. That's saying something! Keep up the great work, Dru, you are a sauce master!

edit: Also, what ever became of "#3"?

Pepper People Are The Best!

I just got a package in the mail last week from Wicked Mike (it took me a bit to figure out who sent me these)

I ordered some of his pods, the last time he had them up for sale.  (I received a great selection of excellent pods that I had been wanting to try)
He sent me these seeds... Just because,  Wicked Mike is Awesome !

Thank you WM

:D

Check out this bonanza I just got from Wicked Mike!!!!!

Sorry pic is rather blurry - I was excited!  Wonderfully tart and unique passion fruit, bahamian goats, bishops hats, a couple of probably the best tasting mango I've ever had, unknown yellow pods (hot!), unknown blonde pods (mild and great tasting), incredible lychee! alma paprikas and a sampler of some excellent (and hot) powder and a bottle of what appears to be Sunshine State - a truly wonderful sauce he makes.

Note: I'd never had lychee like this before the box arrived, and now I know why people go nuts for em.  Absolutely unique and wonderful!

Thanks WM!!  <3

edit:  Test batch #3 is still being worked on, but early results are encouraging enough that I've already started working on a label.  :)

I received a box similar to yours, Dru.  The postal service shook mine up a bit and did a number on the peppers but the other stuff survived.

I had never eaten lychee or passion fruit.  What marvelous stuff!  I told WM I may have to move to Florida!

The "blonde" pods are Cream Fatalii.  Yellow look like the Fatalii x Red Savina (yellow version, seed from from Justaguy pods) that I grew last year but I don't see them on WM's grow list.  But, he's growing so many kinds they could be many.

Thanks again, WM - great stuff!
