Fail on my part Scovie. Camera was in his car. He is on video taking on a bhut. Nothing like a starter run. Have to find out the site with it. SL also got some plugging for Pure Evil. did 3 drops for fun and then they looked at me and asked if I would want to set a new "record" with 7.

thinking it was Iloveitspicy but I have no clue where they posted video.
 
It's all good man! I'm sure we'll hear more about where these activities ended up. I think Jay and Geeme were going to find out who/what/where.

Told them if on video to document for the doubters, but of course "The Machine" did 8 bhuts in 1 minute and then the "15 minute" break took 45, then he did 8 scorps in 1 minute and it was 4pm which was when they had to close up their gig. Oh well, no big deal.

You guys had so much fun, I wish we were there. Maybe next year...

I was out there for a couple of hours on Saturday.

My usual plan for this kind of event is to do one lap for sampling milder sauces. This way I'll have a nice protective layer in my belly. Then I do a few laps for the hotter stuff.

Less than ten minutes after getting there I here the words "Would you like to try the Execution Station?" Of course I say yes. I finish it in a few minutes, the mouth burn lasted a few more minutes, then it hit my stomach hard. The next 45 minutes are spent laying down in my car. Then all is good again.

I came home with a modest haul.

Hey all! I JUST got home - haven't even unpacked yet. Yep, I took pics (including Justaguy, Sethsquatch, and JayT devouring wings in a judging), and will be posting them shortly.

BUT

Before I do that, I want to say an extra big THANK YOU to some great folks. As many of you know, I broke my ankle two months ago, and was very hesitant about going to the festival. Not everyone at the festival knew I was in recovery mode, but those that did were AWESOME. I flux between better and worse days at this point, and while I have to walk slower than normal even on my best days for now, on my not-so-good ones, I end up walking even slower, and sometimes just have to give it a rest. If anyone was impatient with me, they didn't show it at all. Everyone took it in stride, helping out where I needed help, and took things at a pace where I could handle it. A couple particular call-outs: JayT helped make sure I got places and did some heavy lifting for me (luggage), Red and his wonderful wife, Steph, let me hang out at their booth when I needed to be off my leg. And Justaguy, Sethsquatch, and JayT's friends (Boobie, Chris, and John) probably walked at about 1/4 of their normal pace so I could keep up. So THANK YOU for your help and patience!

DC - So sorry you and Maggie couldn't be there, and for the circumstances that kept you from going. I'm glad the surgery went well, and hope to get to meet you at another event in the near future.
 
Glad you're home safe G!!! And now you get a day to rest and recuperate too!!!

JayT managed to judge two contests back-to-back (Buffalo Wings plus Most Unusual), slamming down 42 wings in the process..... he should be in pain at this point!
