Awesome pics! The Bighorn Basin is one of my favorite places in the world.

Thanks. I grew up there, unfortunately. Lovely to visit for the scenery and hunting, but I could never live there. The folks are very judgmental if you aren't "one of them". I am bias and jaded from my life growing up there. Somewhere I have a bunch of shots taken from when I lived in Alaska. No clue where they went, though.

Thank you as well. I used a Sanyo VPC-E2100 for all those shots. It is just a cheap point and shoot from Wal-Mart. My only gripe is it is very sensitive to low light and has trouble focusing in it. One of these days I need to invest in a tripod as well. It would really help with macro shots.

Here is another shot of my wife from that same day.

I'd make a sepia of Sicman, but it wouldn't reflect the magnitude of his beard. Magnificence that couldn't be fully captured in a photo.
I think my beard was only a few weeks old in that picture. Only last for a little over 2 months but it got burly!

This technically isn't a photo, but it is a pretty cool aerial video of the Methow Valley where we live (the Salsa Family and Scovie & CJ).  Taken in springtime 2013, the hills are green, still some snow on the mountains and the river is muddy from the spring run-off.

You can just jump through it and see a few pics of the Methow Valley and it will give you an idea of where we live.  The vid covers about 50 miles from Pateros to Lost River.  Carlton is at 5:45-5:55 with the main view of downtown Carlton at 5:50.  Check it out.  When I say we live in the middle of No-Where....you'll see what I mean.  Twisp is at 7:54.

And yes, you can see my house....if you know where to look... ;)

Scovie, were you saying to yourself while watching the video....."did that house, worked there, know that place, there's (XXX)'s place...."? .....
The river was really muddy.  Listing says it was posted 9 months ago to that would put it circa May 2013.

Oh hell yeah i was... Kinda funny.

On the video, it said the date and towns (as he flew over each one) even the elevation he was flying in the beginning. You didn't see any of that?

Beautiful day in the Methow fo sho!

The birds down in Hays(south burgh)have 3 eggs now.I have a nest a couple blocks away that I haven't checked on yet. Too f-ing cold! If you are in Warren still, there are a poop ton of nests up there.

Can anyone suggest a good site for renting lenses? I am looking to buy a telephoto and want to test some. Looking into 300mm f2.8.

I cant recommend any but google will show you some places to rent.

Is that a revolver cylinder?

Truck tire. Too cold to get a better picture. There were some really cool ice designs that someone with skill could have taken advantage of.
