PIC 1's......Pod Pornage.............2012

Here's the start on my grow log. Well no pods yet but I have to start somewhere, and away we go!

The seeds in the containers are all c.chinense. They were dunked in a germinating solution for an over-nighter on December 1st.
This was the first phase of the germination process with plantings happening every 2 weeks through the month of January.
The annum species and the mild/medium strains will get planted late Jan through early Feb.

Most of these are "Super-hots.

Here's a shot from today, things are looking up and up.

Here's a unique looking seedling. It has 3 cotyledon's and a set of 3 true leaves. The seedling is a Trinidad Scorpion Green, seeds are from Chris (cc). I've seen the triple cotyledon with my Coronong's but not the triple set of true leaves at the same time

Here's another seedling that caught my eye. The leaves are as dark purple as my Dutch.Hot's. This one's the Purple Bhut Jolokia seeds were also from Chris. I know the leaves will eventually turn green.....but right now they look pretty...

Did somebody say "Purple"......Here's one of my overwinters. The Maui Purple. The flowers have set and soon the chili's will form...........yea

And finally another overwinter and was an over-achiever/producer last season. That's why its here. It's's the TS Butch T

I just spent 10 minutes in my grow tent with a fist full of shiner and a "Rudy Pep Talk". Instead of GO, FIGHT, WIN, it was HEY YOU LITTLE A-HOLES, GROW LIKE GREG'S PEPPERS OR ILL COMPOST YOU!

PIC...I love looking at your porn. Im aspiring to grow as nice of looking plants as yours. I have two suggestions for you update pics. 1) You should have a twelve inch ruler in the pic. 2) you should say how old they are. That is my suggestion/request. Keep on keepin' on man.

The Orozgo is an interesting plant. I moved it to a different spot under my T8's but now its also receiving some bleed from the metal halides, so its taking on a slightly variegated look. I'm not sure on the taste of the peppers. This was an add on gift with a seed order, 1st time growing it.

Great update once again Greg.
Couple of quick questions (sorry it's in my nature to ask questions )
What's the story with the cups with the plants and water in them? ? Cuttings I presume?? And if so what are they? ?

I had just taking some floral cuttings from some "Coleus"..........about 40 cups or so, I thought I'd throw some in for a little added color, but they got dwarfed in the background.

The Orozco is a 1st timer, so I'll let you know in July,... P. Dreadie seeds were from Chris (cmpman) if you do a search on thois site there's more info with photos, not mine as this one is also new to me.... Wow 3 strikes and I'm out, I can't help you with the Madbaltz, seeds were from Patrick, maybe he'll see this and chime in.... You must be thinking "What did he grow last year?"... Well I did grow the " Cappuccino Scotch Bonnet"................it has a lite smokey flavor with the typical Bonnet heat.....creveased shape, light brown in color and a pretty good producer, not as dark in color as the Guadalupe Black, but similar shape.

Hey Greg and Trippa. Patrick sent me some pods this past year, one of them was a madballz. Here's a pic (hope you don't mind if I put this in here), it's the one on the bottom left. Its size and shape were similar to the chocolate bhut (back right), but was more ribbed and had a nice red tint to it. If I remember correctly, tastewise it had a little smokiness to it like chocolate hot peppers, but most of the flavor was similar to a 7 pot and it was real hot. Hopefully Patrick will come in and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it is a cross between a chocolate bhut jolokia and a 7 pot red.

Yep J.B., The Sweet Hot is looking pretty stout,..................haha, that "Jonah" has a few hung leaves............The weathers great here today, and it's good to have the kids back from school, even if its only for the weekend.......enjoy yours

I generally bottom water , unless I need to rotate the plants due to change in height, or if I pull the trays out of the grow area to clean I;ll inspect each plant under natural window lighting, checking for dead leaves or pests....at that time I'll individually top water each plant and then size up the plants when replacing them back into the trays........that usually only happens early on a weekend morning. That can still take 2 hrs plus

If certain floral cuttings will root in water that's the way I go. But inregards to other methods, I usually use rockwool cubes, conditioned in ph down and add rooting gel at the cut.
That has always worked well with my pepper cuttings, I've also done a mix of perlite and vermiculite which works well for tomato clones. I haven't ventured into the "hydro" seen but that's the full proof way to go for cloning. Airlayering works well for certain plants, also

Hanoi Red, Maui Thai, Yellow Burkina

West Indian Red Hab, Safi Red Scotch Bonnet, Orange 7/Pot...............these were plants seeded around Dec 1st,... cutback on Jan 16th after the 3rd leaf set. I did that purposely with these and several others to produce shorter bushier plants to be used on balconies or patios. The plants will still produce numerous pods on several more branches.

Here's a weekend update!.........in phases

Not a major achievement here, but here's a Jamaican Scotch Bonnet sprout through a magnifing glass, seeds slid back from from a friend on vacation in Jamaica, It took 32 days for 2 sprouts to emerge. We'll see what emerges from the plants!

Ok, I got my purple fix for today, a small variety with the "Maui Purple" being the smallest and the CGN 21500 in the middle

Yellow Scotch Bonnet (Papa Joe's Mkt), Gold Bullet, TS Cardi Yellow

Fatalii x Cleo's Dragon, Nagabon, Orange Devil Habanero

Douglah, Yellow Scorpion, Red Savina

Here's a couple of Malawie Bird plants
