As of yet, I cannot get unsober enough to boil a hamburger patty. I can just
envision it separating into unappetizing-looking gray worms and it churns my

Went to a friend's house (maaaaaany moons ago...) and her mom was making soup in a not-so-good drunken chef way.
 
1 pound of frozen raw hamburger in a stock pot of water with a bag of frozen mixed vegetables.  (True Story). 
 
 
I couldn't stand it, so I fished the frozen burger out of the water before it got too thawed, fried it up, added bouillon (can't remember what else) to the vegetables in the water and the browned burger.... it passed as a reasonable soup.   
 
 
Having said that, I hope Robbie adds some beef base and dehydrated onions to the water when he boils that burger patty!  WIN!  :rofl:
 
microwaves are for heating up food that has been cooked not for cooking food............... :rolleyes:
 
oh and for those who can't make real popcorn you can make those bags in the micro with all those preservatives. ;)
 
Scovies' recommenditation of 1/2 of water in a pan sounds to me like steaming.
I had envisioned dropping a burger patty into   a pot of 8 cups of boiling water
much like one would boil spaghettti noodles. Lucky for my drunk ass noone will
ever know of my incredibly ignorant inebriated ineptitude.
 
Cincy chili is made with crumbling up raw hamburger into the base. Cooked thoroughly, of course, but point is yes, it significantly breaks up as one might expect, especially if you give it a good stir from time to time. Of course, that's not quite the same as simply boiling it in water >>>> THAT would earn a crap crown fo sho!
 
boiling ground meat in plain water, whether in patty form or loose, definitely deserves a poopy-top!  :lol:
