1/23/12 After 3 days of neglect while I was out of town. Tray sat on a table near south facing window. Not what they needed but it kept them alive. I used my 15 minutes of free time for the week and hung a light for them.

Hey. On the isolation, a tip I got from Justaguy's grow is to use a drinking straw. cut a little piece off and then cut that piece open. Slide it around the stem to mark the isolated pod. I think the panty hose is a solid idea. I might mimic that. Nice grow!
Thanks for the tip brother. I will be trying that on some of the other plants I do later in the season.

Looking awesome there pr0d. Yeah maybe wait on those brown 7 pot/pods to see whether they are true or not.
I saw some pod shape variation across varieties from start of season to end with the more classical shaped pods of all types sIetting fruit and growing to ripe during the warmest months of summer.
Especially towards the end of autumn all the pod shapes got pretty distorted from what they had looked like especially when it came to the superhots and scotch bonnets
I noticed late season pods grow funky before. This is my first year growing so many varieties. I have so many plants that look like bhuts.. Brown 7 or not, that plant is throwing out some nasty pods.

Well It looks like a brown 7 to me. My red 7 has a few pods just like that :onfire:
Thanks for the info sir.

Yellow 7 SR

I ate 1/4 of this pod today on an empty stomach. The heat was ok at first, then started to fade. Then out of nowhere it picked and got as hot as I want to handle. The flavor of these are pretty are pretty good IMO.
Similar to the Cardi scorp but a lot hotter.

This is more my heat level. Flavor was so so. I'm not huge on chinense flavor.

Man that primo is so wicked! your plants are going off! Pretty good isolation idea. How worried are you about your plants crossing?

There are enough crosses and not true seeds floating around. Just an effort by me to try and isolate not only for my stock but for seeds I will be sharing come this fall. Good to see you bee.

Excuse my stupid ness but what does the SR stand for after yellow 7 (I am sure its probably obvious )
Tripps.... "SR" is for the initials of a member here who initially shared seeds of all the 7 pot, scorpion, and Trinidadian peppers. I wasn't around here at the time, but I try to give credit where credit is due. IMO,all this brainstrain tom foolery comes from the 7 pot red,and 7 pot yellow that they shared with this community. We all have benefited from it in some way, some for the hobby, some for the $.

Yo good to be back! Sounds like a good idea with the seeds. I man do it for a flower or two on each plant to try and have pure seeds for next year.

Holy crap man! Nice looking pods for so early in the season. Well done!
Thank you Red. It rained 3 times since middle of May here. I know they don't like wet feet but jeeeesh.
You my friend know how to grow peppers!
Jamie, Que pasa amigo? The thing I have learned is to leave them alone. The time I spend on them is only to look for pests and to keep leaves off of the dirt by pruning. I went the organic granular route this year. Time will tell if it was a good idea or not. I had bac spot on two plants (it has rained 3 times here all year..head scratcher) and I had two others that were a bit locked up but are coming along now. Not everything has been 100% smooth but I'm trying to stay out of their way. I am chomping to start sharing some love, and to get my powder on like the rest of you junkies!

Pic time..... Most of these plants are from seeds I got from Cmpman1974 in a pod, powder, seed auction. I can't remember now because he added a gazillion things. . Chris you are a legend!

Hand grenade!!!!! 7 pot Congo SR.... This plant has been a badass since it was a couple weeks old.

I can't get a good pic of the biggest one but this is big enough.

Douglah plant.... Seed from Chris again. I tried a ripe one already and I have to say the flavor is rubbish!

Douglah plant dropped 75-100 flowers easy but has settled down and is loading up. Bad pic

Bird Dung plant... These aren't supers or great tasting but I love these plants. Super dark green leaves and very fuzzy.

BLS Boonie pepper..... This plant was a stick about 8-10 days ago. I have a soft "spot" for this guy.

Flavor's rubbish??? Dang, that sucks I have a ton of Billy Boys on my plant. I feel the same way about Barrackpores...but I planted one anyway!

Your plants look amazing, and I think your nuts! Flash or not I don't see a bit of yellow in that pic!

@Spice... Those are bhuts for sure. Not sure if they are chocolate or not. They currently are turning alittle red-orange color. Not the 7 pot brown I ordered though. That plant is a bush,it won't grow vertically at all.

@stc.... The "rubbish" comment is coming from an annuum chomper. I have heard of different Dougies having different tastes like you stated. Wayright has said he has a scrumptious variety.

@Capsicum.. Thanks for the compliment.

Nice production,
Was the Douglah ripe? The best taste seems to happen just before they soften. I still prefer to dry them and powder'em.
Those are nice size containers, 10 gal?
Man, I can't wait to get some ripened pods out of my garden. That Yellow 7 looks nice and oily... mouth-watering.

Always a great update here!

Greg

Hey Prod! Every thing is looking nice and green. Been a little lax keeping up on GLOGs for the past couple weeks. Trying to catch back up. I need to go out today and pull all the leaves that are touching the ground. I hear you on the bush factor. Most all of my chinense are little bushes with no vertical. I have no idea how to get them to the sky. I may try blocking side sun and see if that helps them stretch their legs. We still have a few months of grow time. I think they will go up when the heat does, I could be wrong though.

Let me know how that 7 pot Congo SR turns out. I may be pestering you for some seeds for next year! Already making a list of new varieties I want to try. Manzano and Congo being right up there.

Grow on my PA brother!

Wow - great pics - huge pods! Love the first couple with the 7 Pots. I'm curious about the Aji chuncho - have you had one? How's the taste? The more peppers I try, the more I really like the aji lemons/pineapples lemon drops etc. So I'm curious about the flavor of this one and I've never heard of it.
