1/23/12 After 3 days of neglect while I was out of town. Tray sat on a table near south facing window. Not what they needed but it kept them alive. I used my 15 minutes of free time for the week and hung a light for them.

Second meager harvest this week. Couple more Weeks and I should start
seeing an increase.

Found this guy a couple days ago and not sure exactly what he is. Thought it was a mealy bug at first but after I scooched him off his spot it looked more like a leafhopper and jumped like one also. Pretty neat bug prior to squashing.

Are the yellow chili's ...Thai?
Your spider is carrying some baggage.

Greg those are yellow bedder peppers. Similar heat to the Thai red dragon. To answer an old question you asked.... My plants are 7,10,15 gallon. I also have some smaller plants in 3 and 5 gallon containers.

That's a great picture of that spider - she building an army for you
Yes shes is... Thanks for checking in Andy. Always a pleasure!

Great harvest and critter pics! Have missed a few good critter pics myself lately. Seems as though I come across the coolest stuff while I have a handful of peppers or watering can instead of my camera. I like spiders...but I have a couple out there that are taking a toll on my ladybug population.

Get a shoulder strap brother...I want to see some critters. I was a science and biology nutcase when I was a kid,by the time I got to jr. high I didn't even open my science books. Get snapping!

You are a picture taking mofo machine

I am loving macro photography right now. Limited to what I can do with a cell cam. Any quality shot I get is based on sheer anal retentiveness. This winter I will have the proper device I want and I won't be so handcuffed.

Your harvest is just amazing for PA climate!!! Do you grow them under lighting first indoor?

This is my second season starting plants under lights indoors. First year was a two bulb t8 fixture which worked out suprisingly. This year I used a mix of t8,t5,halide,cfl,and window light. I tinkered with the lights this year, nexy year probably will tinker with soil and feeding schedules. Started too early this past year and the transition outdoors wasn't as seamless as I wanted. I want to start later and have similar growth, but get them outside when they are hitting their stride.
Our season isn't as long as some, but the short season we get is as good as any for growing.

Plenty of heat happening in your neck of the woods............the garden, that is

Those Yellow 7's are ripening up nicely! I can just imagine the scent when cutting one open...

The green one's must be "The Green One's"....................throw those in a omelet and let me know how they taste..........ha

Greg

Looking great! I'm real curious what a yellow 7 tastes like, it won't be too long for me. It looks like you are going to have a ton of pods ripen around the same time - you'll be in for some heat!

Just a quick update from today. Plants are setting fruit inspite of crazy heat and humidity.
Praetermissum was growing vertically for awhile and then decided to explode and set branches everywhere.

Plants are kicking! Love the prat! Really nice looking wild. Going to devote a large area to wilds next year. Really like some of your "nots" too. Keep it up! I don't see so much as a yellow leaf anywhere!

looks like you turned on the afterburners! plants are rockin hard. Your plants look super green and dont seem to mind that heat wave at all. How high do your soil temps get in the black containers when its that hot out?

I will have to check that out. I keep them "grouped" together during the day and the canopy seems to keep them cool. The sun stays directly overhead as the day goes by,gets no chance to heat up the sides.

First rain in a month Tuesday and they took to it well. Next year I will have more wilds also. 3 solid months to go in PA,looking forward to seeing where that plant takes it.

Jon I am very jealous of how perfect your peppers look. There is not a single flaw in any of them

Oh since I am here I call dibbs on some not black naga seeds ;) They look badazzzzz!
