yeah.. quite scary when i was staying near one of the places which got hit by 26 dec 2004 tsunami. lucky for me i was 1 764 km away from my house :) but my brother in law was home and he went to see the devastation /the aftermath of the places got hit. u know people in my area did not eat any fish or seafood for sometime.. the amount of people missing and lost at sea was scary.

weird stuffs going on now... hundreds of dead fish in australia.Dead fish, eels and crayfish have been found on shores with the coastline of Green Head, some 290km north of Perth, being covered in washed up carcasses.

Hundreds of thousands of dead fish(anchovies and sardines) surface in Redondo Beach, California

both this incidents have just 1 day apart..

Floods in australia as well as earthquakes in new zealand. If mother nature is being like this now i hate to see her when she is drunk.

With everything accross the planet that's been happening over the last year or 2 I'd say she's been on a binge drinking cheap beer eating spicy greasy foods and is pre-El Nino. If it was happening in one place that would be easy to understand but when it's not a localized happening, something has to be going on.

its a sad time in Japan .. all my prayers go out to the people of japan.
Authorities said at least 60 people were killed and many more missing. The magnitude 8.9 offshore quake was followed by at least 19 aftershocks, most of them of more than magnitude 6.0.

I still can't believe it; my heart goes out to all of those who have lost so much.
Unbelievable devastation!
A very sad day for Japan, and one never to be forgotten.

I really feel for the people affected and hope Japan can control their nuke plants - a major problem now. But I know life comes and goes - ask the dinosaurs. I can't change what might happen - found that out last year when we went nearly two months with abnormal high temps and zero rainfall. I try to deal with what I can change and not care about what I cannot. At the same time, I won't go Christmas shopping in 2012 until December 13!

Mike

sorry to hear of this & condolences to those affected by this.

well give it another 12 months & we'll see, if true then more things will be happening.

i am fortunate enough to get to travel to japan several times per year. i have made many friends over the years - hopefully their families and friends have not been affected by this tragedy. my thoughts and prayers go out to the entire nation of japan.

Just watching the news and a second explosion has happened at the nuclear power plant. People are now being told tonseL themselves inside. Little food or drinkable water. Our prayers continue to be lifted for those affected.

Hey Boss, do we have any members in Japan?

A friend of mine has been living in Japan for the last 7 or so years and I spoke to him on the phone on Saturday morning and since then on the book of faces. Being in Tokyo, he doesn't seem to be too worried about any radiation (says he's 270km away from the plant in question) but as a precaution has stocked up on canned food, bottled water and surgical masks. I hope this problem gets resolved before it gets any worse (and he's confident it will) but I've offered him free room and board if he decided to bail out should things turn bad. At this stage he's quite happy to sit back and wait and I'd imagine his wife doesn't want to leave her family. I hope the situation improves soon for his sake, Japan's sake and for anyone down wind.
Edit: He says people are more concerned about acid rain because of the fires that were raging on Friday than anything else.

Just had a news flash pop up. Japan was struck with anothe 7.1 quake, news flash time was 11:49 so this just happened, and fear another Tsunami will hit them. Veracruz, Mexico was struck by a 6.5 quake about an hour ago also. Report said that it was strong enough to be felt 250 miles away in Mexico city where buildings shook enough to drive people out into the streets.

Sure is a "Whole lot of shakin going on".
