Profanity....

This is not a rant, and I am no longer a moderator...

But....

The language on this forum is starting to go down the tubes...every time I see people using extreme profanity, I cringe...no matter how mad you get, or why you get mad, is it really necessary to use such language?

Have you forgotten there are women and children that are members here or do you just not care...

Please, clean up your vocabulary...and if you can't post without the use of profanity, I would just as soon not hear what you have to say....

+1 Yes its getting bad
Swearing on forums like this usually just shows youth and/or immaturity and it doesn't have the intended affect online

Sorry ... I edited my post to eliminate my symbol replacing ... "sentence enhancers" ... as SpongeBob calls them.

I, unfortunately, write like I speak ... which my wife constantly reprimands me for ... we have six kids (our oldest is 10) ...

One benefit ... my kids are not enthralled when a classmate uses a "new word" ... they just say: "Dad says that one alot" ... :shame:

In the immortal words of Ralphie in A Christmas Story:

"I had heard that word at least ten times a day from my old man. He worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oils or clay. It was his true medium; a master."

+1 AJ.

That being said, I know I've been known to drop four letter word (often replacing a letter with a $) during a rant myself. I don't think I'm as bad as some of those potty-mouth members whose names won't be mentioned. I will make a more conscience attempt not to offend.

Point taken.

I've actually been working hard lately to cut profanity out of my vocabulary (not just on here, but in my everyday life), but as is always the case with me, bad habits die hard.

I believe if one uses "spicy" words in conversation, whether written or spoken, it shows that the individual does not have a very good vocabulary. There are ways to express oneself without use of profanity and still get your point accross......

It is also a habit that can be broken...... you just need to get the snark whipped outa ya!

(see what I mean?)

I just ignore those who feel the need to swear.....those swearing need to be ignored to prevent its getting worse.
