Hey ya'll, mrs. blues and I got back last night after 6 days in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We had gone down there to attend the wedding of my best friend Chip and his lovely fiance, Christina. We got checked in on thursday night here..

We had a junior suite on the beach side, 3rd floor. (Terrible.) The hotel had several outdoor restaurants located right on the beach which served incredible food. Everything was fresh. Limes, fresh salsa fresca, guacamole and fresh fried chips were served with every meal. (Horrible!) Modelo Especciale and tequila were my libations of the trip. (Totally lame.)
The morning after we got in was supposed to be fishing trip but plans changed with so many family members of the bride and groom that it became a sightseeing day trip. Chip's guide boat, Redneck, had a 16 foot beam and well accommodated the 20 or so of us. In the afternoon we boated to Punta Mita and had a lousy 3 hour lunch/dinner at Margharita's. Freshly caught yellowfin tuna was the main fare and the platters for our group just kept coming. First was a seared and lightly sauteed tuna veracruz. Then a seared garlic tuna, followed by spicy tuna with sausa rojo. Finally came a rare seared tuna flank w/ soy and wasabi. There was heaps of limes, refrito's, arroz, and salsa fresca. There was also a guac/cilantro dressing that was fantastic, along with a simple guacamole. We couldn't get enough! For almost a week, no matter the venue, mrs. blues and I ate and drank like royalty. (boooooo!)
Sadly ya'll, my camera battery chose this trip to crap the bed and I took few pics. I could only take a few at a time and then had to recharge. I really wanted to capture some of the food and ambience from our truly awful trip!
I did manage a few pics....here's the disgusting view from our room. I had to look at this crappy scene every day while having my morning coffee. (Don't waste your money at this place.)
Here's one of a typical evening....(what a scam!)
As you can see, the boat trip was truly abyssmal and nobody had any fun!
This is what one has to put up after spending all day, walking the beach, breathing life in, and swimming in the surf. (Truly awful!)
mrs. blues and I managed to take a few other pics but more related to the wedding itself. In summation, mrs. blues and I will most likely return there next year so that we may relive our suffering anew.
Salute' ya'll!
