Rain, rain, go away...

What you mean not in the greenhouse and left to the elements of nature? Twelve are outside, next week I'm going to put a lot more out as I can't walk in the greenhouse without knocking a load of flower buds off. I've got to fence off a bit of garden first though to stop the dog eating them.

Ar forgot that furry friend of yours having a likeing for your chilis, can see why now you keep them well away from his diner snack menu..Winalot and peach habs for a dog overtime would not be good

What? No Edouard leftovers yet, AJ?

no sir...not a drop...the remains went south of us....I just saw on the weather this morning where last year in the months of June and July we got a little over 16" of rain....this year June and July is 1.7" of rain total...total rainfall for last year was a little over 36 inches and this year so far we are at 16"...so you can see last year was very very wet and this year is just the opposite...

we did get a break yesterday...the high was 94...supposed to be close to that today then the warming trend starts back with 100s forcase next week...they say we may have scattered showers tonight thru tomorrow but I bet you a dollar to a donut it won't rain a drop where I live...

Well speaking of rain... we have had record breaking amounts here in Ontario Canada this summer... its been along time since i have seen rain of this nature but thank god i planted my first little harvest in big planters... All i did was move them around when the gods were crying...they all seem to be doing well, except for the fact that its taking forever to see any results... they only started to flower 1-2 weeks ago and we are in August already...grrrrr

I'm in the same boat. Even with the sparse plantings my wife did for me while I was away, we've got little to show for it. My Jalepenos are still green with very little in the way of corking. The good news is, my corn is nearly 8 feet tall!

The weather here in Mi. is actually perfect for the garden. I am sure some would prefer more rain but the irrigation system is working well for me. The melon vines are getting 5 gals. a day each. We're in for some milder weather for the next 4 or 5 days so we will see what effect it has on the plants.

Chris, I really wish you could make it out this way to see how these peppers are growing it is really amazing me, and the toms.......... some of the plants are nearing 9 ft. tall.

I had to put some tomato cages around a few pepper plant today since the rain won't seem to let up and I'm finding more broken branches every day. I also started moving some plants back into the greenhouse to let them dry out. The tomatoes in the greenhouse are doing pretty good except the whitefly is starting to infest. I gave them a shot of neem the other day, and if that doesn't work I'll try a soap and chile spray or pyrethrum.:(

good luck to that Potawie.. i would hate to see your amazing looking plants sick..

i just went through the worst three hours, my backyard got flooded with water from this terrible storm today.. i had to bring my plants inside and now just waiting until the storm passes...

two of the plants got damaged... four pods, 10 flowers gone... i just cant believe how much rain we are getting these days... i'm starting to get a little tired of it now... strange weather indeed.
