REDTAIL's 2012 GROWLOG

I guess it is about time I posted some pictures of my 2012 seedlings.

Here's what things looked like in January:

Some very good news! I saved a couple of the lesser damaged seedlings in hopes of some dormant buds starting to grow again and would you believe it, they are growing. A strong root system must have pulled them through so the damage isn't as bad as originally thought. Still a minor setback but it sure beats starting over again from seed. Pics soon!

Sorry to hear of your losses rtf :( that sucks bro. Good news that some of them are sprouting back though.
Unless the actual roots froze couldn't most of them theoretically throw out some new shoots if there is still stem intact?

Theoretically yes they could. I looked through a bunch of the seedlings and some froze all the way down so no nodes to resprout from. I tried a couple of them but they were already drying out completely.

Dang, RTF, really sorry to hear about the freeze. Mother N's reall good about catching you with your pants down. She got me for 36 with a rain storm. Only lasted about 10 minutes but it was 10 minutes when I wasn't there and that was all it took. Wish you luck in the rest of the season.

Hey, Dan, sorry to read about the freeze.
You are a trooper with a great attitude.
And, Shane to the rescue! I think we should all
ask Shane before we do anything to make sure it's
okay. We could avoid a lot of headaches that way!

Great photo, Dan! Looks like one big happy family.
I see them gazing longingly at the outdoors : )

Glad their making a comeback...some of them anyway! The indoor guys do look ready for action! You've even got them caged in with the seedling flats!

What a room! Is that plant in the orange bucket your "YOU BETTER GROW OR ELSE" plant? Pretty smart method to get some great growth!

The seedling flats are for cat deterrent purposes. This is only a portion of seedling I have potted up but they sure do look ready to go outside to play!!!

The orange bucket plant is my overwintered Galapagoense. The leaves are very small and difficult to see in this photo.

Almost there Dan!
Have you thought of trying a rubber made tub with a fish tank heater in it?
I know you were trying to conserve power. Because the electric bill is my second least favorite bill right behind car insurance. haha
500 plants well have you busy thats for sure good luck with the season!

Honestly Steve, I have better luck keeping it simple. After the Easter holiday, the majority of the plants will be making their way to the hoophouse after some quick hardening. I feel much more relaxed with the addition of the ThermoCube switch and ceramic heater out there (thanks for the suggestion Shane!!!)

Felt like taking some pictures this morning...

I like those "Red Rocotos" they like the cooler temp hardening phase.
What color pods will you get from the "Leopard" plant

Greg, the Pimenta Leopard is supposed to have red pods with dark splotches / stripes on them.

Looking great man! Have you put any back out in the hoop house yet?

I'm going to be quick hardening this weekend and they will be spending the night under the protection of the Thermo-Cube and ceramic heaters.
