beer =[ Remgrandt's Six Months of *NOT BREWING* ]=

Lol. I need to figure out what I'm going to brew next. I actually did a good job dwindling down my inv.

I'm toying with an Oatmeal Cookie Porter recipe. Once I think I have it close I'll present it to Wheebz. I want to toast the flakes and use a cinnamon stick, vanilla bean, and raisins. Plus possibly put some brown sugar in the boil.

That sounds good ...

I had big inventory, brewed it down, and then replaced it expecting to brew for the month or two while it was slow at work ...

Then the dogs commanded a lot of attention for a month and a half, and now I'm about to be slammed with with work for 2-4 months until the rains come back and they can't pour as quickly again ...

Oh well, such is life ...

Thankful the majority of my grains are whole, and are going into containers designed to ensure their freshness - they'll do okay I think, until I can get to them ...

Would love to brew some beer, though ...

Maybe next week ...

If I kill the grains today (I'm half-way through them), I know I can kill the hops and yeast tomorrow, and still have some fun (bake, grill, something ...) ... that'll be good enough ...

Then I can try to get my CO2 (and distribution of ...) and keg killing going, so I can have a freezer back for the upper-sixty's env I need for new ferm projects \m/

Miss brewing ... a lot.

I was pretty sure I'd read that mead without hops wasn't particularly degraded by oxidation during racking, but I don't think I believe that ...

If that were true - why would this remaining Apple Pie Ceyser's taste have degraded over 30 hours re-corked in the fridge? ...

Maybe sack mead doesn't suffer too greatly to oxidation, but melomel or ceyser's do? ...

I don't know but my money's on oxidation being the case for mead too ... it seems to be almost universal ...

Wheebz killed the whole vibe we had going in the brewing area w/ his no photos bullshit!

f**kin' Wheebz ...
Yeah. I couldn't possibly take a picture of Wheebz beer. Although, that seems to be his biggest no-no....so I am listening.
