Hello Everyone! Just want to see what people do when they replant their plants they get from the nursery. Do you go ahead and put them in a big container or gradually get them big enough to put them in its final home?
Depends on the size of the plant. If it's decent size and nice and strong I'll put it right into the container I'm going to grow it in. You can really do this with any size plant you just need to be careful with how much water you give
Seed tray --> solo cup --> final home in 6 gallon bucket or raised bed is how I scale up. If I buy a plant it goes straight to bucket or bed. If I run out of space/buckets I will put them in 1 gallon milk jugs (assuming the live plant is in a smaller container).
That's my usual routine but this year with the craptastic weather they got an intermediate 1 gallon pot planting before they end up in the 5-7 gallon pots or raised bed.
