rhm3769's 2014-in the ground!

So I'm setting aside 12 plants to attempt an overwintering.... looking at having 45 plants for 2014....
Plants I'm overwintering, 4 unlabelled supers that didn't produce, pimenta de neyde, purple flash, butch t, two unlabelled ornamentals from ajijoe, another unlabelled ornamental and pequin.
I have 11 varieties I'm waiting on from a sasbe offer here: super chili, aji pineapple, bishops crown, brazilian starfish, 7-pot jonah, datil, chocolate hab, f2 yellow fatali x red savina, and three wilds, c04392, c01225 and tc07246.

I have seeds saved from my last two seasons for orange manzano, rocoto amarillo, an okinawan variety, white habanero, golden habanero, tazmanian habanero, scotch bonnet, jamaican mushroom, yellow fatali, serrano, santa fe grande, aji limon and a few others.... I have to narrow down what I'm growing from my saved seeds....

Raised beds same as last year, about 4'x4', 9 plants per bed.... thinking I'm gonna go back to miracle gro, my first season in 1 gallon containers with miracle gro was better than this last one with fish emulsion and seaweed extract in raised beds....

No beds this time around... going directly into the ground with the saved soil mix from last year's bed as filler.... considering mixing in some more worm castings and some tomato tome....

Picked up some dr. Earth dry fert and a small shovel today.... wanted to go with the tomato tome as I had good results in the past, but the dr. Earth had more microbes and stuff....
Congo black and white hab aren't gonna make it.... really white and shrivelling cotlydons without true leaf development visible.... bummer.... will have to start some more....

No idea what this is.... must have tossed some seed in the compost pile last year.... had a few similar sprouts mid season last year that didn't survive once I moved them into a bed, along with what I assume was cucumber....

Wow, that ground is hard.... found some patches from before where it looks like potting soil and mulch were layered.... guess I'm gonna be watering it a bit today to loosen it up some.... wanting to go about 6" down.... only getting about 3" before it really gets hard....

Ill be moving in august, so im just gonna go with what has germinated.... gonna try to get a few of the seedlings in the ground each day this week....

That mystery seedling in my saved soil/compost pile, im thinking is Manzano.... fuzzy like the root seedling, and im pretty sure I tossed manzano scraps and seeds in the compile bin before....

Got one of the f2s in the ground....
Supposed to be getting a pretty good storm this weekend, holding off on getting everything in the ground.... they'll survive in the tray a bit longer....

Planning on getting a few more seedlings in the ground today....

The mystery seedling isn't a pepper.... since it was in the compost pile, its either tomato or cucumber.... ill let it grow and see....
And ill get some new pictures up....

Have some pictures to put up, as soon as I get around to going to photobucket.... didnt get around to putting any in the ground yet....

Hey man when you go to put up your pics consider using imgur.com, I find it to be faster and more user friendly, also you don't have to have javascript etc enabled.

And I feel you on the weather, I was going to start acclimating one of my cayennes but we have been having really heavy winds.. stinks because its pretty shady out too.

Ahh, I don't think imgur has an app. =/ If you copy the top image link imgur gives you, you will have to type .jpg after it when pasting it into this forums image post thing. Its a pain in the ass to copy the other links because it wants to highlight the whole thing. Sorry for giving you troubles..! if you copy the entire thing ( included)under
[B]BBCode (message boards & forums)[/B]
on imgur and paste that here it should work.. or you could just go back to photobucket! :P

It has an app. ... just makes it easier for me. ...

From top down, unknown super.... yellow fatalities, butch t, unknown super, pimenta de neyde, f2
Hard to see some of the tray.... top right corner is rock to Amarillo, next down from the left, Jamaican mushroom, Tasmanian hab, okinawa hot pepper, red peter, cgn21500, Brazilian starfish I think, dont remember, super chili, hot lemon, 3 more of the f2, wild, wild, Trinidad scorpion
Hate this keyboard and auto correct.... rocoto not rock to....

Interesting.... I've been digging through what used to be my compost pile trying to find the queen of this ant colony that just migrated in.... today I found alot of seedlings popping up.... gonnanlet them grow, or attempt to.... hoping I get a manzano out of it.... if jot, they're either tomato, orange hab or cucumber.... surprised that tomato is a possibility, but I guess some of the ones I tossed in were mature and only days away from ripening....
