RocketMan's 2013 Glog; In The House!!

There are no gardening mistakes, only experiments." -- Janet Kilburn Phillips

I love that quote and it will try my best to remember it through this new grow. Alot of them are ones i started last year that never grew beyond a certain point and I'm pretty sure that a lot of it was my new grower mistakes. Since I really want to try them I'm giving them a grow again. Once again, thanks to everyone that helped me getting started with gifts of seeds and to all on here thanks for leaving your incredable words of wisdom that we can all learn from.

Cheers to a bountiful grow this year.

Looks like you're starting to get settled in. Reading through the last couple of pages was like a mini-tutorial on various means of stump removal coupled with a glimpse into military humor, so that was interesting!

The two pools joke was mentioned, but I notice that you had two houses, then decided to tear one house down by hand...

Glad to see you're getting set up!

Oh, is that a Benden Wine I see?

Now, who can tell me what character from what series of books by what Author would say that? A bottle of the new RocketMan sauce will be sent to the first to get it right.

What you say, a new RocketMan sauce is in development?

Why yes, RocketMans Theric, here's a teaser

Humm, now what is that ;)

No friggin idea, but seeing as you kids are older than mine, how about a writer from a generation before anything I would read? anything from Agatha Christie as a guess?

That garlic shot is awesome. I liked your post 11 times or so for all that garlic. How much is that anyway? 10 heads?

naw, maybe 20 heads.

Jeff, you have to think SciFi and Fantasy, not who done it. Oh, I could also mention that the first book in the series's came out in 1967.

As for how many heads are there, I have no idea as I picked it up already peeled. I will add up how much is there weight wise though tr next time Im in the Rocket Room though.

No guess on that the other 2 items are?

My knowledge of 67 sci-fi literature is slim. Asimov and the writers of Dr.Who are about all I know from 6 years before I was born. Other than the garlic, I have no idea what the other two are.

Hi Bill, The other 2 items look like Celeriac. Is it?

Not really a fan of Anne McCaffery... from that era I liked Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clark, Keith Laumer, Randall Garrett, Frederick Pohl, Gordon R. Dickson and Larry Niven. These days I'm reading David Drake, Elizabeth Moon, C.J. Cheryh, Lois McMaster Bujold and Terry Pratchett.

Ding ding, right on the money Jamie. Master Harper Robinton loved Benden Wines. Have you read the books, my wife turned me into Anne not long after we were married.

Yep Celeraic or Celery Root, good job Rick and that's just over 2.5 pounds of garlic. Heat will be provided by White Bhuts. Fermentation will commence this weekend.

Oh, seeing the new Casa, were still unpacking boxes but will be looking at doing an open house or something soon. I'm hoping next weekend but not before the Sergeant Major of the house says ok ;)

Brother Bill. I will not tell a lie. I have never read the books. Just a little before my time. But you have given me so much love I would be more than glad to just get invited over for a house warming  party ;) . As long as my kids can come and swim in your pool  :fireball:  :fireball:  :fireball:

I recall you mentioning celery root the time you came over to my casa. Just could not for the life of me remember last night .  That is gonna be an amazing sauce. Not sure it will measure up to the pumpkin sauce though. And Halloween is just around the corner

Pumpkin, pumpkin, humm, did I do something with pumpkin?

So, just a quick update, here are the ones that I OC'd ( that stands for Over Cooled since we dont seem toreally have a winter here :) Here's the first half of them. The smaller ones are the new ones in their new shoes.

Have a great week and thanks for stoping by

Alright Bill! Glad to see you got your plants on-site so you can begin to settle them in. Your own shelf for sauces is pure luxury, and well-deserved!

I got my first ferment for this year going... It's a mix of red chiles... some "nots", Maya Red Habs and Cheiro Recife pods with Onion, Carrot, Garlic, Ginger Root, Asian Pear... a tbsp of Agave Nectar and half a cup of Kimchi brine as a starter. After 2 days it's off to a good start... bubbling well enough to cause the mash to separate. Cheers!
