Thanks for stopping by, and check back soon, I'm sure this season is bound to be interesting.

So what's you final assessment of the Atomic Starfish. I remember you saying you were disappointed in its lack of heat. Has there been some heat variation in the pods, or are they all pretty mild?

BTW, your indoor grow is looking great. Keep a close eye on those aphids. Those little @#$%& will take over if given the opportunity!

Nice update and glad your friend remains. Where did you score those bumpy pots? They simply look awesome!

Thanks!
The pots are called Airpots. They were created by the Caledonian Tree Company in Scotland to grow larger trees in smaller containers. Air pruning of the roots is the idea. Same as the fabric containers that many here use.

Well I'd say I like the Starfish. There was some heat variation from the first few I tried. The heat to me would be somewhere near a habanero.
I'm drying the remainder out to use in some powders. I think the heat and flavor should come through a bit more once dried.
I will be growing it again in the future. The plant itself was the tallest pepper in my garden this year. As well, the uniformity of the pods was really cool.
Really cool plant all around.

Thanks on the indoors move. My garden helpers seem to have it under control so far...

Welcome to this Monday morning episode of RoninGarden,

Fall in the Rockies!

All has been chill in the basement grow spot lately.
Everything got a good watering yesterday as well as pest inspection.
As I watered I was also on the lookout for any disease or pest signs and all is well.
New sprouts have taken to their new Airpot homes wonderfully.
They're looking nice and healthy.
I now only have two sprouts remaining in Rapid Rooters awaiting an upgrade to Airpots.
As well, I have 3 more seeds in Rapid Rooters on the wifi pending poppage.
That brings the total peppers in the basement grow spot to somewhere near 27.
So much for a small overwinter project....

Here are a few pics from above from left to right.

IMG_8547.jpg

I'm still amazed to see so much growth from just 2 t8 lamps.
I'd be dangerous if I had access to ML or HPS...

I'll close up this update with two of my garden security force.
First one in the black/orange uniform:

Followed by the sentinel in brown/yellow outfit:

If you hang out in RoninGarden too long... you'll get jumped!

Until the next update...

Yeah, a small overwinter is hard to do . . . Just hard to say goodbye to the plants that you started from seed. Got about 80 plants overwintering right now, plus I am going to start . . . a lot this month for my 2013 grow.

Looking great man. Those re-vegging plants are taking off quickly. Still using General Organics? I cut all 6 of my keepers back and into the garage for the winter. Nothing but seedlings under the 400w MH due to space limitations. I'm jealous!

those OW plants are already taking off.. how long have they been in there and how much t8 do you give em per day.... nice security force...

I tried to bring in as many as possible... but a few just didn't make the cut...

Thanks!
I'm still using the G.O.
I've just cut back on the feeding.
Those will be some happy seedlings under a MH.

Thanks KingD!
The first dozen moved indoors at the beginning of October. Just at a month. They're only getting 12hrs of T8 a day.
I have a fan that is on a timer and that kicks on about 8 times a day for a 1/2hr each.

Welcome to this Thursday evening episode of RoninGarden,

Over the last few days i made some adjustment in the basement grow spot.
I pulled everything out and mounted the power strip up above as well as the fan to allow more efficient use of floorspace.
IMG_8585.jpg

IMG_8588.jpg

I also cut some mylar to fit in each pot to reflect all the light possible. Want to get the most out of my ghetto t8.
It also allows me to follow the progress of my garden security force... Dead aphids and gnat-like carcasses are easily spotted.
The new arrangement allows the plants more space so none are touching and each gets equal access to light.
Here's a few pics with lights on.

Nice growth on the OW's, considering the amount of lighting and one month into it. Those plants will be flowering in no time. That spider is pretty fascinating,... be careful with the sticky cards around the "little enforcer"

nice looking OW set up

Thanks!
I try to upgrade where and when I can.
As well, I like your triple aerogarden setup.

Thanks!, And thanks for stopping by!
Funny you should mention flowering...
First indoor flower yesterday:
IMG_8711.jpg

Definitely didn't think that would happen in just a month...
Let's see what the next 6 months bring..

Welcome to this Saturday morning episode of RoninGarden,

Once again, Idle hands are the devils workshop...
I moved the plants around again... I saw that there was a much more efficient use of the space to be achieved.
I was able to get all 13 1.5 gallon airpots into two rows.
IMG_8718.jpg

IMG_8719.jpg

With this set up I am able to place all the 1.5 liter airpots on top of them.

Here is a pulled back view:
IMG_8726.jpg

I'm thinking the campers will be happy..
With this new placement light distribution will be equal for all.

I'm glad I see this guy more frequently than anyone else in the garden.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until the next update...

I like the reflective covers you put on the pots, maximize light and helps combat aphids.
+1

Yessir!
I'm making the best of the T8.

Welcome to this Monday evening episode of RoninGarden,

Well it's been 9 days since my last update... Been without internet for about a week...
Now that the net is back..
Update time.

I'll start off with the casualties first.
Giant Bhut #1 which was my initial bonchi project is now dead.
Thankfully my Butch T #1 Bonchi is doing well.
A few of my basement window overwinters passed as well.
Both Chocolate Fatalii's, Peter, and Condors Beak have moved on to the afterlife..
They just didn't seem to take to the new spot.
All the others that are in the window sill are thriving.

My 2013 lineup is doing really well.
Here is a few pics of them.
IMG_8925.jpg

IMG_8922.jpg

IMG_8920.jpg

IMG_8918.jpg

IMG_8917.jpg

The oldest of these was born on 10/13.

Some of the peppers in 1.5 gallon airpots and 1 liter airpots have begun to flower.
IMG_8914.jpg

Definitely didn't expect to see this many plants flowering indoors under just a t8 fixture.
I'm sure they'll drop, so no expectations..
As long as they are healthy and put on new growth, I'm a happy camper.

Here is a pulled back view of the whole lot.

In my next updates I'll do a few close-ups to show the progress of new growth.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until the next update....

Looks real good!
Impressive for T8's

Thanks!
Once funds allow I'd like to upgrade to a high wattage cfl setup.

Welcome to this Tuesday afternoon edition of RoninGarden,

As stated in my last update I got some close-up photos.
In this first round I got pics of all the 1 liter airpots.
Let's start off with the runt of the litter...

And I'll finish them off with the Douglah (CCN nursery plant):
This was the first to make the cut for overwintering.

This is one of the many peppers that have started to flower.

Next update I'll focus on the 1.5 gallon airpot peppers.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until the next update.....

YOur plants look great! How are those sprouts doing from the seeds i gave you? This weather is nuts down here. It has been so warm. I ended getting my med card last week. Loving this DWC setup for my MJ plants. Switching to flower time on monday.
