What generation is the cross? Is there even a correct character for it?

I have some 7pot Primo X Purple Bhut F2 seedlings that are coming in with two different leaf colors. I don't think either is "right" for an as yet unstable hybrid.

Good question and great insight.

I am not sure about the generation. I got the seeds from justin (WHP). His website mentions that it is an unstable cross.
Looks like it can go both ways.

Now I am in a dilemma. Which one should I go with. Lol.

Hello neighbor! Watching your glog with interest since we share the same weather. (Will it ever stop raining!?)
Is there some reason you can't keep both plants to see what's-what?

Hi there neighbor.
Yeah I am waiting for the rain to stop. Things are looking good this sunday.

I can't keep both the plants because:
1. They are sharing a cup and I cannot take the apart without damaging roots on other one (I am pretty bad at being gentle)
2. I have room to grow only 20 plants at max.

See you around.

If I had to choose one, I would lean toward the PdN parent influence and choose the darker pheno.  It's the particularity of the PdN that characterizes this and similar crosses, so why not lean toward those genes to the extent they can be seen?
EDIT:  But yeah, keep both!  See what's up.  :)
Hey CD, I think I will do that.

I wish I had more space. My dream is one day I move back to the great pacific north west and do homesteading at the foot hills of mt rainier.

Well. Lazy me not updating this Glog. But seedlings are doing good. Proceeding at their own pace.

Having sun juice whenever possible.

Its getting crowded in here. I have only 1 setup. So have to cram everything into this space. Next year I need to plan well and expand my setup

Some seedlings got too tall too quick.

So they got a haircut.

What do you think about my topping. Too close? Too much?

As far as your toppings go, they already have little
branches coming out! I usually leave 4-6 nodes and
when I see where the strongest branches are, I can
trim off another node or two if the top ones don't
branch vigorously.

Good luck with those!

Nice looking plants......looks like they really enjoy that natural sunshine when they can get it.

Does this mean I took too much off? Hopefully they will come back stronger.

Not at all. They are going to be fine,
the new growth will be nice and healthy.

I just always like to hedge my bets. Another
thing is, is you don't cut off enough, the plant
is still tall with branches at the top. Kind of
have to top according to your situation.

It's really good that growing vegetables is
not rocket science. Nature can overcome
some of our mistakes!
