Awww, look at all those little babies! It's a beautiful sight!

You cracked me up with your comment about keeping the babies, and kicking out the hubby. It's the other way around here, if I keep adding more peppers to my growlist, I may be the one that gets kicked out!!!

My germ rates have been so so. I contribute that to my first time stumbles. My lights are too far from my plants from what I have seen on the forum. I can't help that right now. All I can do is hope it doesn't slow them down or make them too leggy later on. I also have to get a fan in there but can't figure out how do that with the fan oscillating. I have some things to work out but I will figure it out. Oh for measurement purposes the lights are approximately a foot away from the plants.

Talk to AlabamaJack. He had lights and fans going for a seedling bootcamp last year. Atten-HUT!

You do need to get the lights closer to the seedlings, they're already getting leggy. When you pot up you can bury most of the stem if you need to. You also need to separate the seedlings and a few of the cups definitely need a couple more inches of growing medium. The growing medium looks kind of water logged too so be careful of dampening off. You'll want to put a fan on them too, strengthens the stems and air movement will help prevent dampening off.

You're off to a good start Pia, keep working at it.

Patrick I adore you. I knew all of that and I know that's why I am slow on getting seeds to pop. I will have germination on those I have messed up on cuz no problem is unsolvable. Or absolute. Can't do anything about the leggy plants or the light lowering so you, I, and us will cross that bridge later. Aahahhaahaha. I am presumptive aren't I. I'm kidding.
It's a problem I will deal with and ask many questions about later. I have no choice. I am working on the water log and have purchsed seed starting trays. Here in Jersey they just got them in at HD. We will be ok. I'm used to working with little and learning fast.

Oh Patrick your input is invaluable just so you know

Steve I will speak to Alabama Jack but since this is my first year growing from seed I really want to learn from my errors so I can have feed back for future growers. I will ask tho cuz I need help. :)) :)) :))

You're coming along fine, Pia. Getting the seeds to pop is half the battle. I'm certainly no pro, but that at least is what I have learned. I agree with what GA said above, if you can't lower the lights, put something under the cups!

Good luck!

Hey Pia, great job so far!

On a more serious note, I have found a fan for you that will sort all your problem. I used these this grow season and they worked a charm!

Good Luck ;)

AHAHAHAAAAA    For that you get a nasty Budweiser beer

Anything you can do to decrease the gap between plant and lift will help. Other than that, it's looking pretty hot in there. Keep it up!

I was wrong. My husband gapped the chain so that I am able to lower the light. He is so brilliant. I didnt even noticed that he did that. I will lower and will post pics when I get home from my mother's house to see if I have the right gappage :) .

Updated pics of the lowered lights because GA said I better or else. Aahhaaaaa

Pia, really like what I'm seeing over here, but that cotyless sprout may survive, but prolly not. :mope: The one with the kinked stem will probably give you some troubles too. :tear: I saw that you pre-soaked, but you may not have planted quite deep enough on the helmet head issue. Some are just prone to it because they have tougher seed cases. Two choices there. Surgery to remove it, or mist them often to help keep the seed case soft and hope they shed them eventually.

Thanks Shane. I thought I had responded to you before. I remember typing something out, but must have deleted it accidentally. All of the helmets have came off thank God. I did exactly what you said. I kept them moist. And I performed a slight surgery and they came off quite easily.

Come on over anytime Peri. GA, that Powder is HOTTTTT!!! AND DELICIOUS :onfire:
