seeds seed sources

What are some reliable US based seed sources that you all have used? Could be people on the board or online shops.

I have a small variety of seeds I would like to get for next season.

What kinds are you looking for?

Well So far I think I want...

Red Savina
Bhut Jolokia
Naga Morich
Scotch Bonnets (These are favored for their fruity taste right?)
Tobasco
7 Pot

Suggestions? Most will be used for making hot sauces and salsa (variety of hotnesses) so we are looking for whatever is good for that.

Thats all I can think of right now.

Apart from tabasco you are basically looking for extremely or super hot varieties, so if the variety of hotness is a factor you might want to think again;) Good selection thought!

I will have seeds for the red, bhuts and 7's for ya this fall!;)

Why only US based?

I've ordered from thehippyseedcompany.com in Australia and gotten seeds within a week. We get a good exchange rate as well. If i remember correctly he has all the varieties you are looking for. Plus you can watch him eat the peppers you're getting seeds for.

If superhot is what you want, I would go all 7 pot myself.

But if you want variety, I'd add scorpions to the list.

Fatalli's too! Not quite as hot as some that you listed but still hot as :hell: with a very unique fruity flavor.

I knew I was stepping into something!;)

My 7 pots were hotter, and bigger, and better producers.

That is 3 strikes as far as I am concerned. I will grow 9 or 10 7 pots instead of a mix of bih, naga, scorpion, etc.

Hi Cheezydemon, just out of curiosity, what strains did you grow of the 7 pod and how would you compare them?
thanks

Good Question.

I have only grown what I believe to be the traditional red, round, pimply 7 pot.

I LOVE it and have decided to settle down.......;)

Next year I may try the yellow.

Good luck finding those. When I decided to plant peppers I checked at least 20 online spots and none of them had nagas, bhuts, fatali, white Peruvian or 7 pot. I guess since I didn't start looking until April everyone was already sold out and the best I found was a small Bhut for sale locally that went for $50.00!! Hopefully I will have better luck finding seeds next year.

The 7 Pots are on my list for next year, but they're going to have to do some fast stepping to out do what my Naga Morrichs are doing for me this season. ;) If they are much hotter I may need to install a magnetic containment field to store the heat. :)

What are some good milder varieties that would make nice sauces? I mean apart from red/green/yellow bells. I also have Tepin and pequin growing so I know those get used in hot sauces lower on the SHU scale.

Fatalli's too! Not quite as hot as some that you listed but still hot as with a very unique fruity flavor.
Oh yea forgot to add this one

OK I will do that.

Just seems with every other site I got to that isnt US based doesnt have their prices and does not deal in US currency. I would be totaly down for watching him eat all that hot stuff. I have seen a few videos already
