seeds Seedling Problem

Hi Folks ,

On a few seedlings I've started the hull , shell or what every you call them , haven't dropped off.
I've tried a few drops of water on the hull to keep things moist. Nothing ... I tried cutting/ splitting them with hobby razor knife then pulling them off with tweezers. They didn't survive .... LOL

Any tips ??

Thanks,
P. Dreadie

I would then alone -- I've tried tweezers and opening the seed hat from the sides with some success but not enough to recommend all in all they will eventually fall off

if you are having the "hat on" condition frequently, try planting your seeds a little deeper for germination...the added depth may add a little time until the seedling sees its first light, but it also adds more "friction" coming up through the soil to pull the husk off...I had a lot of these last year for my first planting when I planted the seeds 1/4" deep, second planting I planted 1/2" deep and had very few come up with their "hats on"...
