This reminds me of my first day at work, twelve years ago ...
I walked the shop and introduced myself casually, and gave them some poorly assembled Spanglish, and they laughed and had some fun ... a few even called me 'gordo' ...
The next day I walked over and excoriated them in proper Spanish, and they learned I was hired as VP Engineer.
