SKULLBIKERS 2019 Container and Kratky GLOG

I am starting an indoor grow experiment so I might as well start the new years glog at the same time. Today I threw 3 seeds in the dirt(hoping for 66% germination). I will keep 1 in dirt and 1 in Kratky. These will stay in my grow room under my 8000K T8 shoplights from the beginning through fruit.

Thanks. I am thinking Rocotos may have a heavy presence in my grow this year. Still waiting for more Rocoto seeds

Interesting pepper. I never knew about rocoto before but I just looked it up. They seem very special.
Peruvian Red Rocotos are probably my favorite
pepper of all. I dont think you can do better.

Time will tell on the Rocotos. I originally started with them expressly to grow out the Rocoto Montufar PL585273. The info that I have come across on those says that when fully ripe they should have a ripe cherry flavor. And, as luck would have it, out of 8 seeds, only 2 have germinated, but thats usually how it goes.

I feel so badly for you people up there. Your week in hell.

Hey skullbiker, what is the greenhouse thermometer? A standalone or remote sensing? I've never seen an acurite with that display. And I can't imagine a standalone that still has a display at -25.

There is a remote sensor in the greenhouse for that one. It is an accurite, I think I got it in the clearance isle at Walmart a year or two ago.

This second Rocoto Montufar has gone several days since emerging from the soil with little change. It struggled to pop out from hook stage for several days also. In reality it seems to be a bit of a runt.

Well, I decided to put it in a glass to get a jump start, then it got worse before it got better. I spritzed the dirt off of the root and saw the original problem, just one small root stem with no little root hairs, then in the process of making it into a floater the little root broke off. So now it will be like a super tiny cutting.

Now we just watch and see what happens.

Weekly update time. The two Rocoto Monzano Orange from the original test are showing a vast difference as the one in Kratky is leaping away from the struggling one in the pot.

The three Rocoto Guatamala Orange in the second test are all similar at this time even considering the one in Kratky was originally the scrubby one.

The original Rocoto Montufar is coming along as expected on the standard regimen.

Time to do an update on the various Rocotos, #1 is growing very nicely in Kratky, just branchin and buddin away. It was just a tiny seedling 5 weeks ago.

#2(experimental job) is just barely clinging to life(but I just gave it a dose of my super root builder).

#4, the Rocoto Montufar is doing quite well, with the first bud coming at the first split.

Will finish the update later as I rearrange the plants in the grow room.

This is a branch I cut off my yellow scorpion and stuck in a fish oil bottle. It lives in a south facing window. It's growing some nice roots already and check out the tiny underwater leaves on the bottom node.

You think I should rig up a kratky rig and put it out in the grow room where it can get some better light? It's a happy lil critter. I even gave it some food last week when I changed the water. It never has stopped flowering.
