SKULLBIKER'S "Whats old is new for 22 glog"

I've put this off long enough and now it's time to start "gloging".
On January 1,2022 I picked the Brainstrains again.

1423 grams this time.

And that means two more 1 1/2 pint jars for the freezer.

And they're still alive and producing.

capsicum plants express their genetics in that fashion.
Sort of like the ones that fork at the first node!

The first in the dirt. I guess this is the "OFFICIAL" start of the gardening season.

Those will be growing into a hedge in no time!

The "good ol" Brainstrain plants have passed their first birthday and are pushing 14 months. They are a bit bleak looking after the three cold fronts this winter with temps down to 34°f.

They seem to be making a comeback, with a bit of new growth and flowers.

Because there is so much debate on whether to pinch buds on a new plant or not I thought I'd do a little show and tell project. I personally do not pinch any buds off(I see enough fall off on their own every year). Anyway, some people say the plant is too small when they see the first buds, and granted, maybe it is. But, how big will that plant be when that first fruit reaches ripeness. I have a Billy Bomb that I just potted up. It's just making pods now.
Here is the starting measurement as it just dropped the flower petals off of the pod.

And this will be the second pod, it's the flower behind the pod in the previous image.

I marked the stake with red so we know we're always looking at the same plant and pods.

A few pods off of the spindley plants, rocotos and an Albanian Red Hot. A few is always better than none.

A siamese pod coming on that same plant, and this plant was grown from a seed from a siamese pod.

I had an orange Cherry Bomb pod last year, I got one seedling from the seeds.

And it seems to be producing pods. I wonder what I'll get.

Update on the Billy Bomb show and tell project. It has grown considerably and so has the pod(s).

There are about six pods on that plant now. Here is a pic for comparison of that first pod.

The Borg 9 boys are starting to take off now.

Thirty degree temperature swing today. Too bad I don't have more Rocoto plants ready to flower!
